Farmer’s Protest: Farmers are ready to enter the capital today i.e. Tuesday (13 February) for the ‘Dilli Chalo’ protest. It is being told that farmers will reach Delhi from Sangrur in Punjab via Haryana. Major arrangements have been made in Haryana and Delhi to stop the farmers.

In view of the farmers’ protest, the state border with Punjab has been sealed with concrete blocks, road nail barriers and barbed wire at many places in Ambala, Jind and Fatehabad districts. Along with this, the borders of the capital Delhi have been converted into cantonments.

Keeping the demonstration in mind, police forces and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at every nook and corner. Concrete barricades have been installed near the border. Preparations have been made to stop the farmers by laying sharp wires on the borders. Not only this, big containers have been kept at many places so that farmers cannot enter Delhi in any way.

All the places through which farmers will enter Delhi including Punjab-Haryana have been sealed. Police is preparing to fire tear gas shells at Ambala border, while heavy police force is deployed at Singhu border also. Large barricades have been installed on the Tikri border. Besides, sharp wires have been installed on these barricades.

The police has also maintained strict vigil on the Delhi border. Here nails have been laid on the roads so that farmers cannot cross the border in any way. In its preparations, the police has not left any corner related to Delhi where full proof preparations are not made to stop the farmers.
Farmer leaders said their meeting with Union ministers on Monday (February 12) was “inconclusive”. The government was only giving assurance regarding their demand for MSP on all crops. The farmers, who have set up their base camp in Mahila Chowk village of Sangrur, have made preparations for their journey including stocking up on essential food supplies.
