Such road rage incidents involving showing anger with the vehicle are becoming common in India. Road rage means anger caused by a minor dispute or incident on the road. Anger becomes so dominant that it intentionally causes harm to another person.

A person can get angry while driving on the road due to many reasons. Apart from this, problems like stress, anxiety or depression can also make people more aggressive.

According to the data of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), UP is at the forefront in terms of road rage. According to the annual crime data of NCRB, a total of 4889 murders took place in UP in 2016, out of which about 10% i.e. 489 murders took place due to road rage.

Interestingly, the total number of road rage killings in 29 states and 7 union territories across the country was 513, out of which 95% occurred in UP alone.
