Moscow Concert Hall Attack: The death toll in a concert hall terror attack in Moscow, Russia has risen to around 150. At the same time, the number of injured in this attack is more than 120. Russian local media quoted officials as saying that so far 11 people have been detained, the investigative committee said that four of those detained were directly involved in that attack.

Russian agencies and many leaders have alleged that the attack is linked to Ukraine, although the Islamic State group issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. A US intelligence official told the Associated Press that US agencies have confirmed that the group was responsible for the attack.

Meanwhile, former Russian President and Deputy Chairperson of the National Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia will take revenge for blood with blood. Terrorists understand only the language of terror. Unless force is met with force and action is taken against the terrorists along with their families, no investigation has any meaning.

We stand with Russia- PM Narendra Modi’s reaction

After the terrorist attack, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief and said through a post on Instagram- We strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Moscow. Our condolences and prayers are with the victim families. India stands in solidarity with the government and people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief.

ISIS said – attacked a large gathering of Christians

The terrorist organization IS issued a statement through Amaq News Agency. It said, “Islamic State fighters attacked a large gathering of Christians in Krasnogorsk city on the outskirts of Russia’s capital Moscow, killing and injuring hundreds of people and causing massive destruction at the place before they returned safely to their hideouts. After the attack, our fighters fled from the spot.”

Why did ISIS attack Russia…

BBC quoted experts in its report and wrote that the attack was carried out by the Khorasan wing of ISIS i.e. ISIS-K. ISIS-K is named after the region that covers northeastern Iran, southern Turkmenistan and northern Afghanistan.

This organization first became active in eastern Afghanistan in 2014. Then many fighters from Russian militant groups reached Syria to join it.

They oppose Putin and his propaganda. They say that Putin’s government oppresses Muslims by attacking Chechnya and Syria. Russia had committed similar atrocities on Muslims in Afghanistan during the Soviet era.

Putin became the President of Russia for the 5th time on March 18. This big terrorist attack happened 5 days later. At present, Putin has not given any statement on the attack.

Russia had expressed suspicion on Ukraine

Russia had expressed suspicion on Ukraine and suspected Ukraine of being involved in the attack. On this, Ukraine issued a statement saying, “We consider such allegations as promoting anti-Ukrainian hysteria. This is a way to defame Ukraine in the international community. Russian citizens are being mobilized against our country.”

The US Embassy had warned of an attack

According to a report in the New York Times, on March 7, the US Embassy in Russia had warned of a major attack. The embassy had said that extremists were plotting to attack a music concert in Moscow. The embassy issued an advisory asking US citizens in Russia not to attend any large gathering for the next 48 hours.

At the same time, Putin condemned the warning of an attack on the US embassy. At present, White House National Security Advisor John Kirby said that he cannot give much information at the moment. The pictures of the attack are very horrific.

A rock band concert was going on during the attack

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the attack took place when a concert of the famous Russian rock band Picnic was going on in the hall. 70 ambulances were sent to the spot to help the injured and a task force has been formed.

The terrorists arrived at the entry gate of the building with automatic weapons and started firing. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers had beards. They had AK series weapons. They closed the main gate and shot people from close range.
