Shocking Revelation: 44% of Current Lok Sabha MPs Tainted, ADR Report Exposes Alarming Statistics!

ADR Report On MPs : Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Lok Sabha elections, the ‘Association for Democratic Reforms’ (ADR), an organization working for electoral reforms, has released a report on the current MPs. According to this, out of the 514 outgoing Lok Sabha MPs, 225 i.e. 44 percent MPs have criminal cases against them.

Not only this, it has also come to light in the ADR report that in the analysis of the affidavits of these outgoing MPs, it was found that 5 percent of them are billionaires, whose assets are more than Rs 100 crore.

Cases of serious crimes such as murder and rape are also registered

According to the ADR report, 29 percent of the outgoing MPs with criminal cases have serious criminal cases registered against them which include charges of murder, attempt to murder, promoting communal hatred, kidnapping and crimes against women. The report says that 9 out of the outgoing MPs with serious criminal cases against them have murder cases against them. According to this, 5 of these MPs are from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to the report, apart from this, 28 outgoing MPs have declared cases of attempt to murder registered against them in the election affidavits. Out of these, 21 MPs are from BJP.

The same report of ADR states that 16 outgoing MPs are facing charges related to crimes against women, including rape charges against three.

According to the report, in state-wise criminal cases, more than 50 percent of the MPs from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh are facing criminal charges.

Kamalnath’s son is the richest MP

According to the ADR report, among the major political parties, BJP and Congress have the most number of billionaire MPs, although other parties also have a good number of such MPs. The top three MPs who declared the highest assets include Nakul Nath (Congress), DK Suresh (Congress), and K. Raghu Ram Krishna Raju (Independent) who have assets worth billions of rupees.

 
Nakul Nath of Congress from Chhindwara is the MP who has declared the highest assets. Nakul has declared assets worth 660 crores.

In second place is DK Suresh of Congress from Bangalore Rural seat of Karnataka. Suresh has declared assets worth 338 crores.

In third place is Kanumuru Raghu Ram Krishna Raju, independent MP from Narsapuram in Andhra Pradesh, whose assets are worth 325 crores. 25 MPs are billionaires.

Gender Disparity: Only 15 percent of MPs are women

The report also highlights the educational background and age of the MPs. According to the report, 73 percent of the MPs have graduation or higher educational qualification, while only 15 percent of the outgoing MPs are women. Out of 514, 75 (15 percent) are female current MPs, while 439 (85 percent) are male current MPs.
