This time the senior leaders of the party are claiming to win 400 seats for NDA and 350 seats for BJP. In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, more than 10 descendants of former royal families are contesting on BJP tickets. Some of them are also starting their political career.

BJD has been in power in Odisha for two decades. BJP has fielded two members of the royal dynasty, Sangeeta Kumari Singh Dev and Malvika Keshari Dev. Sangeeta Kumari Singh Dev belongs to Patnagarh-Bolangir and Malvika Keshari Dev belongs to the princely state of Kalahandi.
BJP gave ticket to this family of Rajasthan
BJP has given tickets to two candidates belonging to the royal families from Rajasthan. BJP has fielded Dushyant Singh, son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, from Jhalawar Baran Lok Sabha seat. Vasundhara Raje is a member of the former Scindia royal family of Gwalior, who has been in politics for a long time.
BJP has fielded Mahima Singh, who is married into the Mewar royal family, from Rajsamand Lok Sabha seat. Dushyant Singh has been an MP from Jhalawar Baran for four years. His grandmother Vijayaraje Scindia was one of the founders of BJP.
Jyotiraditya Scindia is the BJP candidate from Guna
BJP’s candidate from Guna in Madhya Pradesh is another Scindia dynasty leader and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. In 2019, he contested from this seat on a Congress ticket and lost. Currently, Jyotiraditya Scindia is a Rajya Sabha MP.
This royal family of Punjab got the ticket
From Punjab’s Patiala Lok Sabha seat, BJP has given ticket to Preneet Kaur, wife of former CM Amarinder Singh, who belongs to the former royal family of Patiala. After Amarinder Singh left Congress and joined BJP, Preneet Kaur remained in Congress on paper till the end of the outgoing Lok Sabha. Preneet Kaur represented Patiala seat on Congress ticket from 1999 to 2014.
BJP candidate from West Bengal
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given ticket to Rajmata Amrita Roy from Maidan Krishnanagar seat. She is pitted against Trinamool Congress leader Mohua Moitra from this seat. Mohua Moitra was expelled from the post of MP in the cash for query case.
This royal family of Karnataka got the ticket
BJP has denied ticket to sitting MP Pratap Simha from Mysore Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka. The party has given ticket to Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, a descendant of the former royal family of Mysore.
BJP’s royal candidate from Uttarakhand
From Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal seat, BJP has given ticket to sitting MP and queen of erstwhile Tehri-Garhwal kingdom Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah (73 years). She was born in Kathmandu and married Maharaja Manujendra Shah Sahib Bahadur of Tehri-Garhwal in 1975.
BJP candidate from Tripura
BJP has fielded Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma from East Tripura Lok Sabha seat, who belongs to the Manikya dynasty of Tripura. She is married into the royal family of Kawardha in Chhattisgarh. Her husband Yogeshwar Raj Singh has been a Congress leader. She is the sister of Tipra Motha Party leader Pradyot Kishore Mania Debbarma and this is her first election.
