At that time Prophet Hazrat Muhammad had won the battle of Badr. According to Islamic history, in this month Muslims fought their first war, which took place in the city of Badr in Medina province of Saudi Arabia. Therefore, this war is also called Jang-e-Badr.

In celebration of their victory in this war, everyone was fed sweets and since then this day is celebrated as Meethi Eid or Eid-ul-Fitr. The Battle of Badr was the first battle of Islam.

‘Eid’ is a gift from Allah on completion of fasting

There is another big reason to celebrate Eid and that is the fasts that are kept during the entire month of Ramzan. Eid is also celebrated in the joy of fasting for a month and completion of prayers to Allah.

According to the Quran, Eid is considered a day of reward from Allah. On this day, Muslims eat food in the daylight and celebrate after fasting for a whole month.

A message of happiness with everyone

Eid-ul-Fitr, this festival gives the message of celebrating happiness with everyone. On this day, without keeping any difference between rich and poor, all Muslims offer Namaaz together and also participate in each other’s happiness.

In Eid-ul-Fitr, ‘Fitr’ means charitable gift. In Islam, giving Fitr or charity is the most important aspect of Eid. On this day, before the namaz, it is necessary for all the rich Muslims to give Fitr to the poor, so that they can also celebrate their Eid and join in the happiness.

How Eid is celebrated according to tradition?

The day begins with the first prayer of the morning, also known as Salat al-Fajr. After this, people dress up in new clothes and share sweets with their family and friends. Where the whole community offers Eid prayers together. After offering prayers, people wish each other Eid Mubarak. A feast is also prepared on the special occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which also includes sweet food.

why roza is kept?

This year, the holiest month of Islam, Ramadan, began on March 12. The ninth month of the Islamic calendar is called the month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, Muslims keep fasts and pray to Allah.

Fasting is one of the five fundamental principles of Islam. It is very important for Muslims to follow these five principles. These five principles include Namaaz, charity, faith, Hajj and fasting.

Eid and Bakrid are same or different festivals?

Muslims around the world celebrate two main festivals. The first of these festivals is Eid ul Fitr and the second is Eid ul Azha. The difference between these two festivals is that Eid ul Fitr or ‘Meethi Eid’ is a festival that comes after Ramzan, while Eid ul Azha is a festival related to sacrifice, which is also called Bakrid.

Bakrid is celebrated on the 10th of Zul-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. In this festival, people sacrifice a sheep following the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim. Bakrid comes two months and 10 days after Meethi Eid and it is during this festival month that Muslims from all over the world go to Mecca and perform Hajj.
