CSK vs LSG IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants team has achieved its fourth success of the season by performing brilliantly at Ekana Sports City. The 34th match of IPL 2024 was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings on Friday (19 April 2024). In this match, Lucknow team managed to get a big win by 8 wickets in 19 overs. Captain KL Rahul was seen in great rhythm while chasing the target for the team. Opening the innings for his team, he played the highest half-century innings of 82 runs in 53 balls. During this, 9 fours and 3 excellent sixes came off his bat. 

Apart from Rahul, Quinton de Kock was the second highest scorer for Lucknow Super Giants. He played a half-century innings of 54 runs in 43 balls. Meanwhile, 5 fours and 1 six came off his bat. Apart from these two batsmen, Nicholas Pooran contributed unbeaten 19 runs in 10 balls and Marcus Stoinis contributed unbeaten 7 runs in 6 balls.

Jadeja’s fifty, Dhoni’s stormy innings

Chennai Super Kings, playing first, scored 176 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. CSK’s start was bad as Rachin Ravindra was dismissed for zero. At the same time, captain Rituraj Gaikwad also could not do anything special, who scored 17 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scored the most runs for Chennai, who played a brilliant innings of 57 runs in 40 balls. He also hit 5 fours and 1 six in his innings. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane also contributed 36 runs in 24 balls to help CSK reach the score of 176.

CSK played poor in powerplay

In the powerplay overs, the Chennai Super Kings batsmen had scored 51 runs, but during this time the team also lost 2 important wickets. In the next 9 overs, the team was able to score only 54 runs, due to which it seemed that the team would not be able to achieve a big score. In the next 3 overs, Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali together scored 37 runs, due to which the team’s score became 142 runs after 18 overs. Moeen Ali scored 30 runs in his 20-ball innings equipped with 3 sixes. After his dismissal, MS Dhoni’s storm came. Dhoni played a quick innings of 28 runs in 9 balls, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Now Lucknow Super Giants will have to score 177 runs to win.

Lucknow Super Giants bowled very well. Especially in the middle overs, the team took 3 wickets and gave only 54 runs. Krunal Pandya impressed once again, who took 2 wickets for only 16 runs in 3 overs. Although Ravi Bishnoi and Mohsin Khan proved to be a bit expensive, they took 1-1 wickets. Apart from these, Yash Thakur and Marcus Stoinis also took 1-1 wickets, but especially in the last 4 overs, the bowlers of LSG were thrashed badly. In the last 4 overs, CSK batsmen scored 63 runs.
