RR vs SRH IPL 2024 Qualifier 2: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made it to the final of IPL 2024 by defeating Rajasthan Royals. Hyderabad team, led by Pat Cummins, defeated Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs in Qualifier-2. With this win, SRH has earned the right to face Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL final. KKR has made it to the final by defeating SRH in Qualifier-1.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and bowled first in Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Its bowlers restricted SRH to a score of 175 for 9 wickets. The Chennai pitch was good for batting. Therefore, it was expected that Rajasthan Royals would achieve the target. But its batsmen proved to be a hit and miss. Only Yashasvi Jaiswal (42) was able to stay on the wicket for some time.

Abhishek Sharma shined with the ball, not the bat

Sunrisers Hyderabad player Abhishek Sharma scored 12 runs in 5 balls with the bat in this match and was out in the very first over of SRH’s innings. But in the match against Rajasthan Royals, he bowled not one or two but four full overs of the spell. Abhishek took two important wickets by giving only 24 runs in 4 overs. First he got Sanju Samson caught by Aiden Markram on a score of 10 runs and then got Shimron Hetmyer out on a score of just 4 runs.

Rajasthan’s batsmen surrender

Rajasthan Royals had a bad start while chasing the target of 176 runs. RR’s batsmen, who had knocked out Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator match, disappointed their team against Hyderabad. Although Yashasvi Jaiswal (42) hit good shots in the beginning and Dhruv Jurel () in the last overs, their game was not enough for victory.

Sanju Samson out after scoring 10 runs

Rajasthan Royals were most disappointed by captain Sanju Samson, Tom Kohler Cadmore, Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer. Openers Tom Kohler Cadmore and Sanju Samson were out after scoring 10 runs each. Riyan Parag could score only 6, Rovman Powell 6 and Shimron Hetmyer 4 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin could not even open his account.

Final against KKR on 26 May

Kolkata Knight Riders made it to the final of IPL 2024 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in Qualifier 1. Since SRH finished second in the points table, it got a second chance to reach the final. Now in the second qualifier match, Hyderabad has made it to the title clash by defeating Rajasthan. The final match between Hyderabad and Kolkata will be played on 26 May at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Earlier, Trent Bolt spoiled Hyderabad’s start

Sunrisers Hyderabad, who came to bat first, had a bad start. Trent Bolt took 3 wickets in the powerplay itself and pushed Sunrisers Hyderabad on the backfoot. He dismissed Abhishek Sharma (12), Rahul Tripathi (37) and Aiden Markram (1). Trent Bolt took all these three wickets in his first three overs. After a while, Sandeep Sharma dismissed Travis Head (34) and Hyderabad’s score became 99 runs for 4 wickets.

Klaasen took the charge of SRH, made 50 runs

charge of the Hyderabad team which lost its third wicket at 57 runs and fourth wicket at 99 runs. This wicketkeeper batsman from South Africa played an innings of 50 runs in 34 balls. After the early dismissal of Nitish Reddy (5) and Abdul Samad (0), Klaasen along with Shahbaz Ahmed took Hyderabad to a fighting score. At one stage, Hyderabad had lost 6 wickets at 120 runs. From here, Klaasen, Shahbaz Ahmed, Pat Cummins (5) and Jaydev Unadkat (5) took their team to 175 runs.
