Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results: Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is about to reach its end. Counting of votes will begin shortly. After a process of 80 days, the fate of 8360 candidates of 51 parties is going to be decided. The results are coming today after voting on 543 seats in 7 phases, the situation of the results will be completely clear in a few hours. Along with this, it will also be clear who will occupy the throne of the country. On one side is NDA and on the other side is India Alliance, although the exit polls have once again predicted the return of the Modi government. Along with the Lok Sabha elections, the results of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha assembly elections are also being declared today.

According to the exit polls,  Modi government is coming to power once again, but NDA is not seen crossing 400. The gist of all the exit polls has come out in ‘Poll of Polls’. According to the assessment of Poll of Polls, NDA is likely to get 365 seats, India Alliance 146 seats and others 32 seats. There are a total of 543 seats in Lok Sabha and 272 seats are required for majority.

Counting of votes will begin at 8 am. For this, security is tight at the counting centres. Preparations have been made for this in different parts of the country.

Special arrangements for protection from heat and heat waves at counting centres

Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh Navdeep Rinwa has directed all the District Election Officers to make special arrangements and take precautions at the counting places. Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 in Uttar Pradesh will begin at 8 am. Counting will begin today at 81 counting centers in 75 districts of the state and the political fate of 851 candidates will be decided.

Before counting of votes, Bhupesh Baghel made a big allegation, said- EVM machines were changed in his parliamentary constituency

Lok Sabha Election Results: More than 100 cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct registered in Jharkhand

More than 100 cases of violation of the model code of conduct were registered during the general elections in Jharkhand. A senior official gave this information on Monday. The official said that one of these cases is also an FIR lodged for urging guests to vote in favor of the BJP in the invitation card of the housewarming ceremony. Voting for 14 Lok Sabha seats was held in four phases between May 13 and June 1 in Jharkhand. The senior election officer said, “101 cases of violation of the model code of conduct were registered in Jharkhand between March 16 and June 2. FIRs have been registered in 98 of these cases.”

Lok Sabha Election Results: Akhilesh Yadav questions the credibility of exit polls

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav questioned the credibility of the exit polls and claimed that the agencies conducting the exit polls are only trying to create an atmosphere in favour of the BJP. Yadav alleged that in many districts, the District Magistrate and the police administration are doing the unconstitutional work of detaining the political workers of the opposition in their homes, so that they cannot participate in the counting of votes tomorrow. Before the counting of votes on Monday, Yadav said, “The victory of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INA) will be the victory of the country and the people.” Yadav said, “We and you (media) were among the people to strengthen democracy. We all have seen that there were no people in their (BJP) rallies, their tents were empty… there was nothing in their favour.”

A delegation of the Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP submitted a memorandum to the Chief Election Officer of the state and accused the Samajwadi Party of conspiring to spread violence and riots during the counting of votes. A statement issued by BJP’s state co-media in-charge Himanshu Dubey said that a delegation of the party led by the party’s state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary met the Chief Election Officer Navdeep Rinwa and submitted a memorandum. The statement said that the delegation expressed apprehension that the Samajwadi Party could cause riots and violence during the counting of votes on June 4. 

489 seats, 4 months of voting process and counting of votes manually… know how the country’s first Lok Sabha election was held?

Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Election 2024) have been conducted in seven phases in the country. The election results will come in a few hours. Counting of votes will take place on Tuesday and the results will start coming out. Voting for the 18th Lok Sabha was held in 7 phases on 19 April, 26 April, 7 May, 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June. About 65.14% voting took place in 542 seats of 28 states and 8 union territories. The first general election in the country was held in 1952. This was the longest running election, which lasted for 4 months. Let us know, how were the Lok Sabha elections held for the first time in the country? What was the process and how were the votes counted:-

After a long struggle, India got freedom from British slavery in 1947. According to the information given on the Lok Sabha website, the Election Commission was established within 2 years of independence. In March 1950, Sukumar Sen was appointed the first Chief Election Commissioner i.e. CEC. The first general election in the country i.e. Lok Sabha elections were held in 1951-52. At that time people did not know how to vote. For this, videos of voting were made and shown to the people, so that people could be explained about voting.

How many seats were there in the first Lok Sabha elections?
At that time, there were 489 seats in the Lok Sabha, but the number of parliamentary constituencies was 401. There were 314 parliamentary seats where only one representative was to be elected. Whereas, there were 86 parliamentary seats where 2 people were to be elected as MPs. This system of electing more than one member in a parliamentary constituency continued till 1957. Later it was abolished.

From when to when did the voting continue?
Voting started on 25 October 1951. It continued till 21 February 1952. According to reports, the first general election cost around Rs 10 lakh. Around 17 crore people participated in the country’s first Lok Sabha election. 85% of these voters were illiterate. Voting was done using ballot paper.

How was the counting of votes done?
A photo of the counting of the country’s first Lok Sabha election is going viral on social media. In this, some officials wearing formal suits can be seen sitting on a big round table. Ballot boxes are placed on the table. In the first Lok Sabha election, the counting of votes was done manually.

When did the first Lok Sabha come into existence?
The first Lok Sabha came into existence on 17 April 1952. Its first meeting was held on 13 May 1952.

Who were the first Lok Sabha Speaker and Deputy Speaker?
Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar was the Speaker of the first Lok Sabha of the country. He held this post from 15 May 1952 to 27 February 1956. The Deputy Speaker of the first Lok Sabha was M Ananthasayanam Iyengar. His tenure was from 30 May 1952 to 7 March 1956.
