Weather Update, Rain In India: In many states of the country, people are in a bad condition due to the scorching heat and now heavy rains. In the last two-three days, news of the death of many people has come from different parts of the country including Delhi. Due to heavy rains in Lonavala area of ​​Pune in Maharashtra, 5 people drowned in the waterfall near Bhushi Dam, including a woman and 4 children. Police and rescue team have recovered 2 bodies. All the five people who drowned in the waterfall are residents of Sayyed Nagar, Pune. All these people are from the same family.

Heavy rains in Gujarat lead to waterlogging at many places

Heavy rains lashed many parts of Gujarat on Sunday (June 30), disrupting normal life in some cities including Ahmedabad and Surat due to waterlogging. Palsana taluka of Surat district received 153 mm of rain in just ten hours, which is the highest rainfall in the state.

Due to heavy rains, waterlogging in low-lying areas of Surat, Bhuj, Vapi, Bharuch and Ahmedabad affected traffic, causing problems for commuters in travelling on some roads and underpasses, officials said.

Rain will cause more trouble in Gujarat

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is likely to continue in Gujarat for the next four days. The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) said that in just 10 hours between 6 am and 4 pm on Sunday, 43 talukas received more than 40 mm of rain, while Palsana taluka received 153 mm of rain.

Vapi in Valsad district of Gujarat received 117 mm of rain, Olpad in Surat received 116 mm, Valsad taluka received 102 mm, Kaprada received 90 mm, Khergam in Navsari received 88 mm, Bharuch taluka received 86 mm, Dharampur received 73 mm and Morbi taluka received 72 mm of rain. Ahmedabad received 62 mm of rain between 6 am and 4 pm, due to which waterlogging occurred in many areas. IMD said that heavy rains are likely in isolated places of South and Central Gujarat and Saurashtra region in the next two days.

Mathura (UP): Water tank collapsed after heavy rain

A water tank collapsed after heavy rains in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday (30 June). Two people died in this accident while 12 others were injured. This water tank located in a residential area was constructed three years ago. District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh confirmed the death of two women.

So far 11 people have died in Delhi due to rain

Heavy rains in Delhi on 28 June 2024 caused waterlogging in many areas including VIP areas. At the same time, the death toll in rain-related incidents in Delhi has increased to 11.  

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rains (115.5-204.4 mm) are likely at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during June 30-July 04, 2024. Road connectivity has been disrupted in many districts of Arunachal Pradesh after landslides caused by continuous rains. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has employed labourers to remove debris from the road and the help of machines is being taken. 

Sukhi river flooded due to rain in Uttarakhand

Heavy rains occurred in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on Saturday (29 June 2024) afternoon, due to which many cars were swept away in the strong current of water as the dry river flooded. In Haridwar, rainwater entered the houses and waterlogging occurred on major roads. This river usually remains dry, so people park their vehicles on the banks of the dry river.
