Hathras Satsang Horror: There was a stampede during Bhole Baba’s satsang in Hathras, UP. 122 people died in this. More than 150 are injured. The condition of many people is critical. The death toll may increase. The accident took place in Phulrai village, 47 km away from Hathras district.
The situation after the accident is horrific. Dead bodies are scattered on the ground outside the hospital. At Sikandrarao CHC of Hathras 95 dead bodies are scattered. Meanwhile, CMO of Etah Umesh Tripathi said – 27 dead bodies have been brought to Etah from Hathras so far. Among them, there are 25 women and 2 men. There was a crowd of more than 20 thousand people in the satsang.

After the accident, the injured and the dead were somehow loaded into buses and tempos and taken to the hospital. CM Yogi dispatched Chief Secretary Manoj Singh and DGP Prashant Kumar to the spot. A team of ADG Agra and Aligarh Commissioner has been formed to investigate the incident.
Why did the stampede happen?
The satsang had ended. People were leaving all at once. The hall was small. The gate was also narrow. There was a stampede in the race to get out first. People fell on each other. Most of them were women and children. Due to this, more than 150 people were injured.
Announcement of compensation of 2 lakhs each to the families of the deceased
On the Hathras accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. Also, an FIR will be registered against the organizers of the program in this case. The administration is preparing to take major action against the organizers.
PM Modi expressed grief over Hathras incident in the House
Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the Hathras incident during the ongoing session. Modi said in Parliament- I got the sad news of the death of many people in the stampede in Hathras, UP. I express my condolences to the people who died in the accident.
I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. The administration is engaged in relief and rescue work under the supervision of the state government. Senior officials of the Center are in touch with the state government. I assure everyone through the House that all possible help will be provided to the victims.
CM Yogi expressed grief
CM Yogi has expressed grief over the incident. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite the relief work. He has also given instructions for proper treatment of the injured.
Minister Sandeep said – the number of dead may increase
Sandeep Singh, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, said, “We have been instructed by the Chief Minister to reach the Hathras incident site and look into the matter and take necessary decisions on behalf of the government. The death toll is constantly increasing.”
Who is Baba Narayan Saakar Hari of Satsang
There was a stampede in Baba Narayan Sakar Hari’s satsang in Hathras. According to the police, Narayan Sakar Hari’s satsang was going on in Fullerai village. The place of satsang was small and the crowd was very large. Narayan Sakar Hari is a resident of Bahadur Nagari village of Etah. He started his studies here. After college, he started working in IB and later turned towards spirituality. He later changed his name to Narayan Sakar Hari. He does not wear saffron clothes and is seen in white suit, tie and shoes. He has a good influence in the districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Bhole Baba- left his government job and started giving sermons
Bhole Baba’s real name is Narayan Sakar Hari. He is a resident of Bahadur Nagari village of Patiyali tehsil of Etah district. He left his government job 26 years ago and started preaching. He had told in his discourse that he used to work in the Intelligence Bureau. Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba has more followers in West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttarakhand.
Hathras Tragedy: Why Were Devotees’ Lives Risked Amidst Massive Crowds at Narayan Sakar’s Programs?
A huge crowd had gathered for Baba’s program in Hathras. Perhaps the police and administration had not imagined this. The police did not have an exact estimate of the number of devotees coming to the event. Therefore, only 72 policemen were deployed there, while the crowd was such that devotees came in buses from far away places. The accident took place in Fullerai village of Sikandrarao police station in Hathras district. According to the initial information, after the satsang ended, many people started going out on one side. No arrangement was made as to which way the people would go. Even if it was made, the number of 72 policemen must have been insufficient to implement that arrangement.
This satsang was of Narayan Saakar Vishwahari Bhole Baba. Looking at social media and Google, it is known that the number of his devotees is quite good. Many bhajans of Baba are also available on different digital platforms. This also shows that he is famous and the number of his devotees is very high.
Usually when such events are organised, along with the police, the volunteers of the preaching babas also get involved in the arrangements. In the initial videos that are coming out from different sources, it is being said that there is a lack of such arrangements. Also, a victim is telling that on one side of the road where people were passing, there were motorcycles and on the other side there was a field. However, in the shock of the accident, that woman is not able to remember properly why the stampede happened suddenly.
The state government has also sent the Chief Secretary and the DGP to the spot. The real cause of the accident will be known only after the officials go there and investigate, but it is certain that a huge lapse in the system took the lives of many innocent people in the program of this Bhajan singer or preacher known as Bhole Baba.
