To avoid defeat in the Test series, Pakistan had to win the second Test match at any cost, but Shan Masood’s team could not do so. The first day of the second Test was washed out due to rain. After this, the Pakistani batsmen flopped on the second day and the team could score only 274 runs in the first innings.

After this, Bangladesh had a very bad start in the first innings. 6 wickets fell at a score of just 26, but the team made a tremendous fightback. Liton Das did wonders by scoring 138 and Mehdi Hasan Meraj, who took 5 wickets in bowling, played an innings of 78 runs. Bangladesh took the score from 26/6 to 262.

Then in the second innings too, Pakistan’s batsmen flopped. Abdullah Shafiq, Babar Azam, Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel all flopped, and the whole team was reduced to just 172 runs. On the basis of a lead of 12 runs in the first innings, Pakistan set a target of 185 runs in front of Bangladesh.

On the fourth day, Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam gave Bangladesh a stormy start, but rain and bad weather became a hindrance to Bangladesh’s victory. Now on the fifth day, Bangladesh had to score 143 more runs to create history. The pitch had become helpful for the bowlers, but Bangladesh showed amazing spirit and chased the target by losing only four wickets.

In the second innings for Bangladesh, Zakir Hasan scored 40, Shadman Islam scored 24, captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto scored 38 and Mominul Haque scored 34. In the end, Shakib Al Hasan returned unbeaten after scoring 21 and Mushfiqur Rahim returned unbeaten after scoring 22 runs.
