Censor Board’s instructions to producer and director

  • The censor board has asked to show facts on the controversial statements shown in Emergency. CBFC has said that the makers will have to present the sources of the derogatory remarks made by former US President Richard Milhous Nixon against Indian women and the statement of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill that Indians breed like rabbits.
  • The censor board has sent a list of 10 changes to Manikarnika Films Pvt Ltd. Most of these scenes are those to which objections have been raised by Sikh organizations.
  • In a scene of the film, Pakistani soldiers are shown attacking Bangladeshi refugees. In this, they are shown attacking children and women. CBFC has also expressed its objection to this scene. The board has asked the makers to change this scene from the film or delete it completely.

Thousands of Sikhs protested against the Emergency in Mumbai

Kangana had shared the trailer of this film on her social media account, the film was also going to be released on 6 September. Sikh organizations have started protesting against it. Sikh organizations allege that an attempt was made to show Sikhs as terrorists in this film.

One character has also been made Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala. Sikh organizations believe that Operation Blue Star has also been filmed in the movie, which was carried out to eliminate Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala.

Thousands of Sikhs gathered outside 4 Bungalow Gurudwara in Mumbai and raised slogans. They threw chappals on the posters of Kangana Ranaut and expressed their anger against the film. People of the Sikh community said that they will not allow this film to be released in Mumbai’s theatres under any circumstances. They claimed that if the administration does not pay heed to their demands, they will protest against it on a large scale.

The matter reached the court, next hearing on September 18

After the protest, the matter of giving certificate to the film reached the court. The hearing is going on in Bombay High Court. The next date of hearing is 18 September. The matter was also heard on 4 September. In which Bombay High Court had directed the Censor Board to clear the objections regarding the film and give certificate by 18 September.

Kangana’s next project ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’

Kangana Ranaut had announced her next project ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ a few days ago. Kangana had tweeted that get ready to see the magic of real-life heroism on screen. I am excited to announce this film.

Know what is U/A certificate

U/A certificate means ‘unrestricted with caution’. Such films require parental guidance for viewers below 2 years of age. These films can be watched with family, but children need guidance from adults.
