Kejriwal’s government in Delhi since 2013, he became CM 3 times in a row
The tenure of Kejriwal government is going to end in February 2025. Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of Kejriwal is in power in Delhi since 2013. Assembly elections were held on 4 December 2013 in Delhi for a total of 70 seats. The results came on 8 December 2013. In this, BJP emerged as the largest party with 32 seats. However, it did not get the majority.
AAP got 28 seats and Congress got 8 seats. With the support of Congress, Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister and formed the government. However, after 49 days the alliance of both the parties broke. On February 7, 2015, assembly elections were held again in Delhi. In this, AAP won 67 seats. BJP was reduced to just three seats. Five years later, in the assembly elections of February 8, 2020, AAP has won 62 seats out of a total of 70 seats. 8 seats went to the account of BJP.
Liquor policy case- Kejriwal has spent 156 days in jail
Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court on 13 September in the case related to corruption in the liquor policy case. He was arrested by the CBI on 26 June. Earlier, Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on 21 March. After 10 days of interrogation, he was sent to Tihar Jail on 1 April. He was released on 10 May for 21 days to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. This release was granted after spending 51 days in jail. Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail on 2 June. In this way, he has spent 156 days in jail.
