3. Kisan Samman and Agricultural Reforms

The agricultural sector remains a key focus for PM Modi’s government. The release of the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi saw ₹20,000 crore distributed to 9.3 crore farmers. Cumulatively, ₹3 lakh crore has been disbursed to 12.33 crore farmers across the country. The government also approved ₹12,100 crore for the Polavaram Irrigation Project in Andhra Pradesh, alongside several other schemes focused on digital agriculture and rural development.

4. Middle-Class Relief through Tax Benefits and Housing Schemes

The government has introduced significant tax relief measures to benefit the middle class. Salaried individuals can now save up to ₹17,500 in taxes, with no tax levied on income up to ₹7 lakh. The standard deduction has also been raised to ₹75,000, with the exemption limit for family pensions increased to ₹25,000. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the government has approved 3 crore houses, with 1 crore houses under the urban scheme and 2 crore in rural areas. Solar energy systems have also been installed in 2.5 lakh homes as part of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

5. Empowering Startups and MSMEs

In a significant move to promote innovation and support small businesses, the government abolished the 31% Angel Tax that had been a burden on startups since 2012. To further boost investment, corporate tax for foreign companies was reduced from 40% to 35%. Moreover, a ₹1,000 crore venture capital fund has been established for space sector startups, and the MUDRA loan limit was increased to ₹20 lakh to aid traders and small business owners.

6. Youth Employment and Skill Development Initiatives

The Modi government has placed a strong emphasis on youth employment and skill development. A ₹2 lakh crore PM package was announced to provide skill development opportunities to 41 million youth over the next five years. This includes internships, skill training, and financial assistance to help them find employment. The government has also announced 15,000 new appointments and set targets to skill 20 lakh youth through industrial training institutes across the country.

7. Empowering Women through Financial Inclusion and Livelihood Initiatives

Women’s empowerment remains central to PM Modi’s agenda. Under the DAY-NRLM scheme, over 90 lakh self-help groups (SHGs) have been formed, with more than 10 crore women participating. The “Lakhpati Didi” initiative has helped over 1 crore women earn over ₹1 lakh per year. These SHGs have been further linked to tourism through the Paryatan Didis and Paryatan Mitras program. The MUDRA loan scheme has been expanded to allow women to access loans of up to ₹20 lakh, further promoting financial independence and entrepreneurship.

8. Healthcare Expansion and Senior Citizen Benefits

India’s healthcare system has also seen notable improvements under PM Modi’s leadership. The expansion of the Ayushman Bharat scheme now provides free insurance up to ₹5 lakh for all senior citizens aged 70 and above, benefiting over 6 crore elderly citizens. Additionally, 75,000 new medical seats have been added, reducing the country’s dependence on foreign medical education.
