NCP Leader Baba Siddiqui Shot Dead: Baba Siddiqui, leader of NCP Ajit Pawar faction and former minister of Maharashtra government, has been shot dead in Mumbai. 2 to 3 bullets were fired at him outside his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office near Kherwadi signal in Bandra. He was immediately admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where he died.
According to the information, Baba Siddiqui had left the office at around 9.15 pm. At the time of firing, he was bursting crackers near his office. Then three people came out of a car. All three had handkerchiefs tied on their mouths. They fired three rounds at Baba Siddiqui.
One bullet hit Baba Siddiqui’s associate’s leg. After this, the second bullet hit Siddiqui. Baba Siddiqui fell down after being shot. People immediately took him to Lilavati Hospital. Police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. There is also news that the police have also taken two people into custody.

3 Accused, 1 Car, 3 Shots Fired: Exclusive Pics
According to the information, three people fired at Baba Siddiqui and two of these shooters have been arrested by the police. Baba Siddiqui’s car was fired upon three times, pictures of which have also surfaced.
According to the information, a 9.9 MM pistol was used in the firing on Baba Siddiqui and the police has also seized the pistol. Another person present with Baba Siddiqui has been shot and is admitted in Lilavati Hospital. Police has arrested two of the three shooters in the case of Baba Siddiqui’s murder. The pictures of the shooters have surfaced. On hearing the news of Baba Siddiqui’s murder, the family is slowly reaching the hospital. Congress leader Bhai Jagtap has also reached the hospital.

The shooters had fired at Baba Siddiqui with a 9.9 MM pistol. The police have recovered this pistol. The accused had fired 5 rounds, out of which three bullets hit Baba Siddiqui, due to which he died.
The third accused who opened fire is absconding- Eknath Shinde
Regarding this incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “This is a very unfortunate incident and I have spoken to the doctors and the police. Two people have been arrested, the accused are from UP and Haryana, the third accused is absconding. We have instructed the Mumbai Police to take strict action against those who take law and order into their own hands. I am sure that the Mumbai Police will soon arrest the third accused, strict action will be taken against the accused.”
Left Congress on 8 February this year, joined NCP on 10th
Former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui left Congress on 8 February this year. Two days later, on 10 February, he joined Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Siddiqui joined the party in Mumbai in the presence of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and NCP working president Praful Patel and other leaders.
After joining NCP, Baba Siddiqui had said- In Congress, I was used like a curry leaf, whose job is only to enhance the taste. When your words are not heard, you step aside. Now the bird has eaten the crop.
Siddiqui said- I was associated with Congress for 48 years. People’s lives pass by in this time. I am not thick skinned. That’s why I felt sad while leaving the party. It is better to stay away than crying every day. Congress only wants votes. They don’t have to give anything.
Siddiqui was in charge of Raipur Lok Sabha
Congress had recently appointed Baba Siddiqui as the in-charge of Raipur Lok Sabha constituency of Chhattisgarh for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. After Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, there was a possibility that he would visit Raipur Lok Sabha constituency. He would have held a meeting here regarding the preparations for the elections, but before that Siddiqui resigned from the party.
Siddiqui was associated with Congress since his student life
Baba Siddiqui’s full name is Baba Ziauddin Siddiqui. He joined the Congress party in 1977 during his student life. Baba studied at MMK College in Mumbai. After joining the Congress party, Baba was elected BMC Municipal Councilor twice in the years 1992 and 1997.
After this, Baba was MLA from Bandra West Assembly constituency thrice in 1999, 2004 and 2009. His son Zeeshan Siddiqui is currently a Congress MLA from Bandra East constituency and is also a leader of Mumbai Youth Congress.
Bollywood celebrities attend Baba’s Iftar party
Baba Siddiqui remains in the news every year during Ramzan for his Iftar party. Apart from political personalities, big film stars also attend it. Even Bollywood actors Salman and Shahrukh Khan have been seen in his party. It is said that Baba Siddiqui was the one who made peace between Salman and Shahrukh.
Dawood had threatened Baba
In 2013, underworld don Dawood called Baba and threatened him saying, I will talk to Ram Gopal Varma and get your film made, ‘Ek Tha MLA’! There was a dispute between Baba Siddiqui and Ahmed Langda, who was considered close to Dawood, over a piece of land in Mumbai.
After this Chota Shakeel threatened Baba to stay away from this case, otherwise the consequences will not be good. Baba complained about this to Mumbai Police. Police took the case seriously and arrested Ahmed Langda and imposed MCOCA on him.
I have lost a good colleague and friend- Ajit Pawar
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar posted on Twitter, “The firing incident on NCP leader, former state minister, my long-time colleague in the legislature, Baba Siddiqui, is very unfortunate, reprehensible and painful. I was shocked to know that he died in this incident. I have lost my good colleague and friend. I strongly condemn this cowardly attack. I pay my heartfelt tribute to Baba Siddiqui.”
