Bahraich Violence: An encounter has taken place in the Bahraich violence case. Rinku alias Sarfaraz Khan and Mohammad Taleem, accused of killing Ram Gopal Mishra, were badly injured in the encounter. Both were shot in the leg.
Police said that the accused were trying to flee to Nepal. Both are undergoing treatment at Bahraich Medical College. When the policemen were bringing Sarfaraz from the encounter spot, he was saying – Sir, I made a mistake, please forgive me.

Encounter before Nepal border, 3 more arrested
The encounter took place near Handa Basehari canal in Nanpara Kotwali area, 20 km before the Nepal border. STF and Bahraich police took Sarfaraz and Taleem along with them to recover a double barrel gun and pistol.
According to SP Vrinda Shukla, the accused had loaded guns and pistols. They opened fire on the police. The police first asked them to surrender. Later, in retaliation, Sarfaraz and Taleem were shot. The UP police on Thursday also arrested Sarfaraz’s brother Faheem, father Abdul Hameed and Mohd Afzal.
How did the encounter happen? SP Vrinda Shukla told
SP Bahraich, Vrinda Shukla said, “When the police team went to Nanpara area to recover the murder weapon, Mohd Sarfaraz alias Rinku and Mohd Talib alias Sabloo found the murder weapon loaded, which they used to fire at the police. In self-defence, the police retaliated, in which both of them got injured. They are undergoing treatment. We have also arrested the other three accused. All 5 have been officially arrested. Strict action will be taken against all of them. Search is on for the other accused. They are undergoing treatment and are alive.”
What did UP DGP say on the encounter?
On the Bahraich encounter, UP DGP Prashant Kumar said that five people have been arrested today by the Bahraich police in the case of shooting and killing a youth in Maharajganj on 13.10.24. Their names are-
1. Mohammad Fahin (named)
2. Mohammad Taleem alias Sabloo
3. Mohammad Sarfaraz (named)
4. Abdul Hameed (named)
5. Mohammad Afzal
When the police team went to recover the weapon used in the murder on the information given by the first two, they opened fire on the police with the weapons kept there. Both were shot in the retaliatory fire. They are seriously injured. They are undergoing treatment. The weapon used in the murder has been recovered.

Ram Gopal’s father Kailash Nath Mishra said that yes, we have received information about the encounter. Talking to ABP News, he said that he is satisfied with the police action. He is satisfied with the government.
Now know about the Bahraich violence
A Durga idol procession was being taken out at Maharajganj market, about 40 km from Bahraich, at 6 pm on Sunday, 13 October. People in the procession were dancing, singing and chanting slogans. During this, a dispute broke out when some youths asked to stop the DJ. Violence broke out in a short while.
More than 20 rounds of firing took place along with stone pelting and arson. 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra died in this. The family and villagers protested by placing the body in front of the medical college. The next day, on October 14, violence continued till noon. More than 50 houses, hospitals and showrooms were set on fire. ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash landed on the ground. The entire area was converted into a cantonment. Then the violence stopped.
Police have filed 11 FIRs. 6 named and 4 unknown accused have been made accused in the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra. 6 accused related to the murder have been arrested so far. More than 50 accused have been arrested in the violence and arson.
