Targeting Mamata
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday made a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of West Bengal over atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali. The PM had said that the entire country is angry on this issue. He called upon the people to defeat Mamata Banerjee’s party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Modi also criticized the opposition alliance ‘India’ for maintaining silence on the Sandeshkhali incidents and compared their inaction to Mahatma Gandhi’s “three monkeys”. The three monkeys symbolize “See no evil, Speak no evil and Hear no evil”.
PM had raised the issue of Sandeshkhali
PM Modi criticized TMC and its leadership by accusing them of audacity and shamelessness in treating women in Sandeshkhali. He said at a rally in Arambag in Hooghly district, “Amidst the achievements, the entire country is keeping an eye on the situation in Bengal today.
The whole country is sad and angry after seeing what Trinamool Congress, which beats the drum of Maa, Mati and Manush, did to the sisters of Sandeshkhali. What TMC did to the sisters of Sandeshkhali is a matter of shame.”
