Delhi-Noida Suffocates Due To Air Pollution: Delhi’s air is continuously becoming ‘toxic’, making it difficult to breathe. On Tuesday also, the Air Quality Index (AQI) crossed 300 in many areas of the country’s capital, which is the ‘very poor’ category of air pollution. AQI level 317 was recorded at 7 am today in Anand Vihar, Delhi. At the same time, the situation is almost the same in Wazirpur, where AQI level was recorded at 309. It is becoming difficult to breathe in the air in Central Delhi as well, AQI level 285 was recorded in Mandir Marg area this morning. Â
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the pollution situation may worsen in the next 72 hours. The AQI may reach the severe category. Cases of pollution-related diseases are increasing rapidly in Delhi. Meanwhile, patients are coming for treatment in the special pollution clinic running every Monday in the OPD building of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.Â

Bawana (325), Anand Vihar (317), Wazirpur (309), Alipur (306) and Aya Nagar (312) are some of the areas in Delhi where the AQI has crossed 300, which is a matter of great concern.
The AQI in Central Delhi has not yet crossed 300, but it is very close to it. The AQI level was recorded at 261 at ITO Chowk this morning. At the same time, the AQI was recorded at 285 at Mandir Marg in Central Delhi, due to which people are facing a lot of problems.
The level of pollution has increased a lot in Noida, adjacent to Delhi. People are having difficulty breathing. The level of pollution has reached the bad category.
Even before Diwali, the air of the capital has started getting poisoned. The level of pollution is increasing with the increase in AQI. In such a situation, many measures are being taken to control pollution, but the situation is not improving. According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI of the national capital was recorded at 304 at 4 pm on Monday, which was 355 on Sunday.
Abhishek Kar, a senior official of the Council of Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), said, “Delhi’s AQI increased from 270 on October 25 to 356 on October 27. This increase was due to a change in wind direction and speed. CAQM should consider implementing phase three or four of GRAP in advance based on these forecasts. Apart from this, the authorities should strictly enforce the ban on firecrackers to prevent further deterioration in air quality during Diwali. According to the CPCB, PM 10 and PM 2.5 were the major pollutants in the air of the national capital on Monday.
The Delhi government on Monday announced plans to deploy 10,000 civil defence volunteers who were dismissed from service last year. Chief Minister Atishi said the civil defence volunteers would be deployed in collaboration with various agencies, including the transport department and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC). According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi on Monday was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, 3.4 degrees above normal.Â
