Operation Sindoor: India has finally responded to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack with a powerful counterstrike deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). In the early hours of Tuesday, the Indian Air Force launched Operation Sindoor, targeting major terror hubs with precision air strikes. In this bold operation, 24 missiles were fired, destroying 9 terrorist hideouts across 7 Pakistani cities.

According to intelligence inputs, over 100 terrorists have been neutralized, including key operatives from Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Multiple training camps and command centers were also reduced to rubble.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that India had launched 24 missiles. However, no official casualty count has been released by Pakistan so far.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally monitored the operation throughout the night, staying in constant touch with the top military brass. This strike marks a significant escalation in India’s counterterrorism doctrine and sends a strong message across the border.

Operation Sindoor: Pakistan’s Contradictory Statements on Missile Attack

The Pakistani government and media have issued conflicting statements regarding the recent missile strike allegedly carried out by India.

  1. Defense Minister’s Claim:
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, speaking to Geo TV, claimed that India launched missile attacks from its airspace targeting Pakistani territory. He stated that these missiles fell on civilian areas.
  2. Media Report:
Meanwhile, several Pakistani media outlets reported that the Pakistani Army had shot down six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, two MiG-29s, and one Sukhoi aircraft. They also claimed that Indian checkposts near the Line of Control (LoC) had been destroyed.
  3. Discrepancy in Casualties and Locations:
Initially, at 2 AM, Pakistan announced that the attack had occurred at five different locations, resulting in three civilian deaths. However, by 5 AM, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revised the statement, saying India had fired 24 missiles at six locations. According to him, eight civilians were killed, 35 injured, and two were missing.

Operation Sindoor: India Denies Targeting Pakistani Military

The Indian Army clarified that no Pakistani military installations were targeted. According to sources quoted by news agency ANI, the strikes were limited to terrorist hideouts belonging to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Global Reaction on Operation Sindoor: US Condemns Attack

Reacting to the incident, US President Donald Trump called it “shameful.” He said, “It’s a shame. I think people knew something was going to happen. They’ve been fighting for a long time—decades and even centuries. I hope it ends soon.”

Initially, The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the group later denied its involvement.
