Operation Sindoor: India’s Defence Ministry has made a stunning disclosure about Operation Sindoor, calling it a “milestone” in the country’s journey toward technological self-reliance in military operations. The operation, executed on May 7, 2025, targeted terror camps and strategic enemy assets inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)—and it was completed in just 23 minutes without crossing the border.

In Just 23 Minutes, India Shattered Pakistan’s Defences

Precision Without Borders: A Strategic Breakthrough

According to the Defence Ministry, Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes on terror launchpads and Pakistani Air Force infrastructure using indigenous air power and electronic warfare systems. Notably, India’s Air Force successfully jammed Pakistan’s Chinese-origin air defence systems, showcasing a significant leap in electronic warfare capabilities.

The strikes reportedly hit key Pakistan Air Force bases—Noor Khan and Rahimyar Khan—with surgical precision, deploying suicide drones and long-range guided weapons to destroy high-value targets like radars, missile systems, and UAV control centers.

What Was Found: Evidence of Foreign Tech Used by Pakistan

Indian authorities recovered debris from PL-15 missiles, believed to be of Chinese origin, and a Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) named ‘Yiha’. These findings provide concrete evidence of Pakistan’s growing reliance on foreign defense equipment and tech to bolster its asymmetric warfare strategy.

However, India’s homegrown defense systems not only countered these technologies effectively but also prevented them from causing any significant damage. “The seamless integration of our indigenous air defense systems outperformed enemy equipment,” the ministry said.

An Impenetrable Wall of Defence

India’s Army, Navy, and Air Force operated in perfect coordination, activating a multi-layered defense system that prevented most of Pakistan’s retaliatory attacks, especially on the night of May 9-10. Indian surveillance teams foiled attempts by the Pakistan Air Force to target Indian airbases and logistic installations.

The ministry emphasized that all strikes were executed with zero damage to Indian weapons or military installations, pointing to India’s superior surveillance, planning, and delivery systems.

Response to Pahalgam Attack: A Shift in Warfare

The operation was launched in response to the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam in April 2025, which highlighted a new and disturbing trend of targeting unarmed civilians. The ministry called Operation Sindoor a “well-planned military response to the emerging form of asymmetric warfare.”

It wasn’t just about firepower—it was a demonstration of India’s strategic maturity. The Defence Ministry noted that whether it’s drone warfare, electronic warfare, or high-altitude air defense, the operation marked a definitive shift in India’s military doctrine, with a clear push toward Atmanirbharta (self-reliance).

What Was the Cost to Pakistan?

While the Defence Ministry did not disclose specific casualty or damage figures, the precision strikes on airbases, radar systems, and missile defense infrastructure suggest that Pakistan suffered heavy strategic and material losses. By targeting the core of Pakistan’s air defense grid, India has likely set back the enemy’s operational preparedness significantly.

Further analysis may emerge through satellite imagery or independent defense assessments, but as of now, the Indian side has made it clear that the operation was a tactical and technological success without any own-side losses.

ByNews-View: A New Chapter in India’s Military Power

Operation Sindoor stands as a landmark in India’s evolving defense posture, combining speed, precision, and indigenous technology. In just 23 minutes, India didn’t just destroy terror infrastructure—it sent a message to the world: India is now capable of defending its sovereignty using homegrown tech without crossing borders or escalating full-scale war.

As the Defence Ministry rightly put it, this is more than an operation—it’s a milestone.
