PM Modi Address Nation: Just 51 hours after the ceasefire with Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in a powerful 22-minute speech at 8 PM on Monday. He spoke on critical national security developments, including the Pahalgam terror attack, the decisive Operation Sindoor, terrorism, ceasefire terms, the Indus Water Treaty, and the future of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

PM Modi made it crystal clear that the military action against Pakistan has not ended—it has only been postponed. He emphasized that future decisions would depend entirely on Pakistan’s behavior. “If Pakistan dares again, we will give a befitting reply,” he said, sending a strong message to the neighboring country.

Pahalgam Attack: Brutality That Shocked the World

The Prime Minister began by recalling the brutality of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which innocent civilians celebrating with their families were gunned down. Describing it as “a disgusting attempt to break the harmony of the country,” Modi said that the incident deeply pained him personally.

He lauded the unity of the nation post-attack, noting that every citizen and every political party stood together to demand strict action against terrorism.

Operation Sindoor: A New Chapter in Counter-Terrorism

Calling Operation Sindoor a reflection of “the emotions of millions of Indians,” PM Modi revealed that the Indian Army had full freedom to strike. Conducted between the late hours of May 6 and the morning of May 7, this operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists and the destruction of their camps in Pakistan.

“Operation Sindoor is not just a name, it is an unbroken pledge of justice,” Modi declared.

He further outlined the three new rules of India’s anti-terror doctrine:

  1. Retaliation will be certain, strong, and on India’s terms.
  2. Nuclear blackmail will not be tolerated; India will strike with precision.
  3. State-sponsored terrorism will be treated as direct aggression.

According to Modi, top Pakistani military officials were seen attending funerals of the terrorists, clearly indicating Pakistan’s hand in supporting terrorism. “The world has now seen the ugly truth of Pakistan,” he added.

India’s air and drone strikes targeted key terror hideouts like Bahawalpur and Muridke, which he described as the “universities of global terrorism.” Modi drew connections between Pakistan and past global attacks, including 9/11 and the London tube bombing.

India’s New Age Warfare Superiority

Modi praised the Indian forces for showcasing the strength of Made-in-India defense systems. The airbase of the Pakistan Air Force was heavily damaged, drones and missiles were precisely targeted, and India’s air defense system intercepted incoming threats efficiently.

“We have proved our superiority in 21st-century warfare,” Modi said with pride.

Ceasefire: A Tactical Pause, Not a Peace Offering

Revealing the backdoor diplomacy, PM Modi said Pakistan contacted India’s DGMO on May 10 requesting a halt. This was only considered after India had dismantled terror infrastructure and sent a clear message through destruction.

Modi reiterated: “We have only postponed retaliatory action. Every future step will depend on Pakistan’s attitude.”

He assured the nation that all Indian armed forces—Army, Navy, Air Force, BSF, and paramilitary units—remain on high alert.

Indus Water Treaty & PoK: No Terror, No Talks

In a significant policy reassertion, Modi said,

“Terror and talks cannot happen together. Terror and trade cannot go together. Blood and water cannot flow together.”

He made it clear that any future engagement with Pakistan will only focus on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Buddha Purnima & the Message of Peace Through Strength

Concluding his speech on Buddha Purnima, Modi reflected on the spiritual strength of the country:

“The path of peace goes through power. For a developed India, strength is not just necessary—it is essential.”

He saluted the Indian armed forces once again, reiterating that India will never compromise on its sovereignty and security.

PM Modi’s national address was a blunt, powerful warning to Pakistan and a reassurance to the Indian people. While military action has paused, the Prime Minister made it abundantly clear that India will not hesitate to respond again, and with greater intensity, if provoked.

Operation Sindoor has changed the way India deals with terrorism—from reactive diplomacy to proactive force.
