Maharashtra Cash Scandal: The political uproar caused by the cash scandal that came to light before the Maharashtra elections has not even subsided and now the Bitcoin controversy has come to the fore. Former IPS Ravindranath Patil has made sensational allegations. He alleged that the elections are being funded through Bitcoin. Baramati MP Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole have been accused in this.

Supriya Sule said- strategy to spread false information
Supriya Sule has called it a lie and reprehensible. She said, “On the night before voting, the well-known tactic of spreading false information is being resorted to to mislead voters. We have filed a criminal complaint with the ECI and the Cyber Crime Department against the fake allegations of bitcoin manipulation.”
Maharashtra Congress media in-charge targeted BJP
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Congress media chief Atul Londhe said that BJP’s money has been seized, people are angry with BJP. That is why a false audio clip has been released. Congress will take legal action. The audio recording is fake. These people have committed the Bitcoin fraud.
The IPS who made the allegations has already gone to jail in the Bitcoin case
Former IPS Ravindranath Patil, who has made this allegation related to bitcoin on Supriya Sule and Nana Patole, went to jail in 2022 in a case related to bitcoin and spent 14 months in jail. But now he claims that many people were involved in this game.
Many people took bitcoins in cash- Former IPS
Patil said, “In 2018, a Ponzi scheme named Gain Bitcoin was being run. In it, a person named Amit Bhardwaj, who was a resident of Delhi, had made a scheme that if you give one bitcoin, you will get 1.8 bitcoins in 18 months. In this, many people took bitcoins in cash, which could not be investigated later.”
BJP took aim
BJP has targeted Mahavikas Aghadi and Congress in this matter. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi played an audio clip during a press conference. It allegedly contains audio of a conversation between Nana Patole and Police Commissioner Abhitam Gupta. In an audio, audio of Amitabh Gupta and Gaurav Mehta was allegedly played. An alleged chat between Gaurav Mehta and Ravindranath Patil was shown.
BJP’s question to Nana Patole and Supriya Sule – who are the ‘big people’ involved in this?
Before the voting of Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, there was an uproar over the cash scandal. There is a lot of politics going on about the matter. BJP held two press conferences regarding this. In the first time, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi called it a mere rumour, then in the press conference at 10:30 pm, he asked some questions to Nana Patole and Supriya Sule.
He said, “Where is the money coming from to run the love shop that Rahul Gandhi is running? If we are holding a press conference so late in the night, there is a big reason behind it.” BJP played two audio clips in this conference and showed some chats and alleged that money is being given. BJP spokesperson said, “In these clips and chats, an accused dealer contacts a former police officer who has been in jail and he says that some amount of bitcoin has to be transacted in cash.”
What did BJP allege?
He further said, “On this the officer says that I have already got into such trouble and do not want to do anything like this. Then the other person says that no sir, big people are involved in this. He allegedly takes the name of Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole and also allegedly takes the name of Supriya Sule. On this too the officer expresses disbelief, then the other person says that I am sending you the audio clip and you listen to it, then you will understand yourself.”
Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed, “In that audio clip, as per the dealer’s claim, it is clearly said that we need money for the elections and you don’t worry about the investigation, we will see if the government comes. In this clip, it is also being said that we need cash and we need it at any cost. That is why it was said that serious and worrying things came to the fore.”
