PM Modi Chandrapur Rally: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday compared the Congress to a bitter gourd and said that whether it is fried in ghee or mixed in sugar, it remains bitter. He blamed the country’s oldest party for all the problems facing the country. Addressing his first rally in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi described the upcoming elections as a battle of ‘stability versus instability’ and said that on one hand the central government under his leadership is taking tough decisions in the interest of the country, while the opposition alliance’s goal is to ‘get power and eat cream’.
He called the Shiv Sena faction led by former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ‘fake’ and accused it of allying with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which is allegedly anti-Sanatan and talks about dividing the country. PM Modi said, “The 2024 Lok Sabha election is an election between ‘stability vs instability’. On one side there is the National Democratic Alliance led by the BJP, whose aim is to take tough decisions for the country, take big decisions. On the other hand, there is the Congress and ‘Indy’ alliance, whose mantra is – wherever you get power, enjoy the cream.”
He said, “Whether you fry bitter gourd in ghee or dissolve it in sugar, it remains as bitter as ever. This saying applies aptly to Congress. Congress can never change.” PM Modi blamed Congress for all the problems faced by the country and asked the crowd, “Who was responsible for partition of the country on the basis of religion? … Who was responsible for issues like Kashmir, Naxalism? Who were those who created hurdles in the way of construction of Ram temple and questioned the existence of Lord Ram? Who turned down the invitation to Ram temple (inauguration)?”
Chandrapur was the only parliamentary seat that Congress won in 2019. PM Modi said, “Today the Dalits, backward, tribals and poor of the country consider the Modi government as their government. Modi did not become the Prime Minister by being born in a royal family. Modi has come here by being born in a poor family and living among you.
PM Modi said that the 138-year-old party has lost the support of the people due to its deeds and its recently released manifesto has the stamp of the pro-partition Muslim League. He said, “Congress has been out of power for 10 years and we have been able to solve all the problems facing the country. There has been a huge decline in Naxal incidents. Congress has been taking a soft stand on terrorism for vote bank politics. Even its manifesto has the stamp of the Muslim League.”
The Prime Minister has often targeted the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INA) by calling it the ‘Indi’ alliance. He said that as long as the ‘Indi’ alliance was in power at the Centre, Maharashtra was constantly neglected. He said that on seeing any project related to the development of Maharashtra, he used to say either bring a ‘commission’ or put a ‘brake’ on the work.
Referring to a statement by a Congress MP, PM Modi said that he talks of division, while the people of the ‘Indi’ alliance threaten to separate South India. He said, “The DMK, which is part of the ‘Indi’ alliance, is talking about the elimination of Sanatan by calling it dengue-malaria and the fake Shiv Sena people organise rallies of the same people in Maharashtra.”
Last month, a rally of the ‘India’ alliance was held in Maharashtra. Congress, DMK and Shiv Sena (UBT) are its constituent parties. PM Modi said that his government has worked for the upliftment of the poor in the last 10 years. He said that the wood of Chandrapur was used for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and the new Parliament building in Delhi.
