Complete roadmap of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyay Yatra: To revive the Congress organization, Rahul Gandhi is going to start a padyatra again after 350 days. Congress has named this march as Bharat Nyay Yatra. This padyatra, starting from Manipur in the North-East, will end in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In this 67-day padyatra, Rahul will walk 6200 km.

According to Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, party president Mallikarjun Kharge will flag off the yatra. The main objective of the yatra is to provide political, economic and social justice to the common people.

Congress has not yet released the official roadmap of this padyatra passing through 14 states and 85 districts, but party sources say that the roadmap of the yatra has been made in view of the Lok Sabha elections.

According to Congress sources, Rahul Gandhi’s visit will cover 100 seats from East to West India, where Congress had lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

How different is Nyay Yatra from Bharat Jodo Yatra?

  • According to Congress sources, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi and the workers had traveled on foot, but along with walking, hi-tech buses will also be used in this journey.
  • The theme of Bharat Jodo Yatra was love and uniting everyone. The theme of Nyay Yatra is to provide justice to all sections of the society.
  • Bharat Jodo Yatra was of 3570 km, while Bharat Nyay Yatra would be of 6200 km.
  • Like Bharat Jodo Yatra, only 14 states will be covered in Nyaya Yatra.
  • CWC member and in-charge of Odisha Congress Doctor Ajay Kumar says, ‘This time time is less. And the distance is more. Therefore, some changes have been made in the format of the journey. We try to cover most of the districts.’

State wise roadmap of Nyay Yatra

Special focus on 4 states of North-East, 19 seats here
Congress wants to focus mainly on 4 states of North-East through Nyay Yatra. There are a total of 19 Lok Sabha seats in these states. In 2019, Congress won 4 out of 19 seats, while the party came second on 11.

This time Congress is expecting excellent performance in Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Assam. Last time Congress was second on 9 seats in Assam. Out of these, the party’s candidates lost the elections on 3 seats by less than 1 lakh votes.

According to Congress sources, the yatra in Assam will enter Meghalaya via Jorhat, Nagaon. Through this route, Congress wants to cover about 9 districts of Assam. Congress is in a very weak position in Assam and the party has been out of power for the last 10 years.

After Meghalaya, the Nyaya Yatra will again enter Assam and go to West Bengal via Dhubri. Last time Congress was at number-2 in Dhubri. Badruddin Ajmal of AIUDF had won from here.

Entry in North Bengal, focus on Malda-Murshidabad

After Meghalaya-Assam, Rahul Gandhi’s Nyaya Yatra will enter West Bengal from Cooch Behar. From here the journey will reach Malda via Jalpaiguri and Siliguri. Congress wants to cover at least 8 districts of Bengal through Nyay Yatra.

In 2019, Congress had performed well on the seats of Malda and Murshidabad districts. The party had contested alone in this election. This time Congress has an alliance with Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool. In 2009 also, Congress had contested elections in alliance with Trinamool.

In 2009, Congress had won 6 seats in Bengal. Most of the seats won were from Murshidabad and Malda. This time too the party is hopeful of getting results like 2009. The route of Rahul’s visit to Bengal has also been prepared keeping in mind the seats won in 2009.

Rahul’s Nyaya Yatra in close fight area in Bihar

After Bengal, Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra will enter Bihar. However, some leaders say that the Yatra from Bengal should be taken first to Odisha, then to Chhattisgarh and then to Bihar via Jharkhand.

Congress is working on a strategy to take Rahul Gandhi’s yatra towards Gaya via Bihar’s Seemanchal and Ganga belt. In the 2019 elections, Congress stood second in Katihar, Supaul and Purnia of Seemanchal.

The party had won the Kishanganj seat. The party is demanding the same seat in the India alliance this time also.

Talking about Ganga Belt, Congress had last contested elections from Munger seat, where it had got 3 lakh 60 thousand votes. This time the party is eyeing Begusarai seat. Kanhaiya Kumar of Congress can contest elections from here.

Content in Jharkhand and focus on strengthening the organization in Odisha

Rahul Gandhi’s Nyaya Yatra will enter Jharkhand in mid-February. In Jharkhand, Congress is working on a strategy to take Rahul’s yatra to Jamshedpur by entering from Koderma or Chatra. Congress is trying to cover 8 districts including Hazaribagh, Khunti and Ranchi.

In 2019, Congress had contested elections on 7 seats, out of which the party stood second on 6 seats. The seats where Congress stood second include seats like Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga

After Jharkhand, Congress’s Nyay Yatra will enter Odisha. Congress will cover 12 districts of Odisha through Rahul’s Nyay Yatra. Through his yatra, Rahul will again visit those areas where Congress had won in 2009. Nabarangpur and Kalahandi are prominent among them.

In 2009, Congress had won 6 out of 21 seats in Odisha. In 2019 this figure reached 1.

Strategy to handle Bastar-Surguja in Chhattisgarh

In the last week of February, Rahul Gandhi’s visit from Odisha will enter Chhattisgarh. According to Congress sources, Congress wants to cover Surguja and Bastar divisions with the roadmap prepared for Rahul’s visit.

In the recent assembly elections, Congress has suffered a crushing defeat in these areas. Even in 2019, Congress did not win seats in other areas except Bastar-Korba. This time the party wants to win at least 6 out of 11 seats under any circumstances.

Uttar Pradesh:

Roadmap of the yatra is the same where victory was achieved in 2009
According to Congress sources, Rahul Gandhi’s yatra from Sonbhadra will enter Uttar Pradesh. The roadmap of the journey has been made on the basis of 2009 Lok Sabha seats. Congress is working on a strategy to remove Rahul’s Nyaya Yatra from about 12 districts of UP.

Through the yatra, the party is trying to strengthen its support base on 15 seats in 12 districts. These include major seats like Unnao, Pratapgarh, Amethi, Rae Bareli. In 2009, Congress had won these seats.

Through the yatra, Congress is also trying to strengthen its claim on the seat it won in 2009. The reason is alliance with SP. SP wants to give only 8-10 seats to Congress this time. The party has said that there is a weak organization behind this.

More focus on Vindhya and Chambal in Madhya Pradesh

Rahul Gandhi’s visit may enter Madhya Pradesh in the first week of March. Through Rahul’s visit, Congress wants to worship Gwalior-Chambal and Vindhya of Madhya Pradesh. There are 2 reasons for this-

1.There are about 8 Lok Sabha seats in Vindhya and Gwalior Chambal. Congress had suffered a crushing defeat on these seats in the last elections. This time the party is working hard here with renewed vigor. The party is hopeful of better performance from the new equations created after the assembly elections.

2. Rahul Gandhi had focused on Malwa and Niwar in Bharat Jodo Yatra, but the performance of Congress in Malwa was very poor. In Niwar also, Congress’s seats decreased compared to the last elections.

Challenge to recover from zero in Rajasthan and Gujarat
Congress faces the challenge of recovering from zero in Gujarat and Rajasthan. In the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress got zero seats in both the states. There are a total of 51 Lok Sabha seats in both the places.

Rahul Gandhi’s journey in Rajasthan will pass through most of the districts of Eastern Rajasthan, where Congress’s performance in the assembly elections has been very poor. Congress is working on the strategy of Rahul Gandhi’s yatra from 8 seats of Gujarat. Among them, Valsad, Bardauli, Chhota Udaipur and Bharuch are prominent.

In 2009, Congress had won seats like Valsad, Bardauli and Dahod.

Maharashtra: Mumbai is the last stop, here’s an eye on the seats for 2009

Bharat Nyaya Yatra originating from Manipur will reach Maharashtra in the third week of March. The last stop of the journey is Mumbai. Congress is eyeing the 2009 Lok Sabha seats. In 2009, Congress won 5 out of 6 seats in Mumbai. On one, ally NCP had won.

In 2019, Shiv Sena won 3 out of 6 seats in Mumbai and BJP won 3. Congress is also trying to strengthen its claim on more seats in the alliance through the yatra, so that performance like 2009 can be achieved.
