Lok Sabha Elections 2024: So far, the first, second, third and fourth phases of voting have been done for the Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Elections 2024). Votes were cast for the fourth phase on Monday (May 13). With the fourth phase, voting has been done on more than half of the Lok Sabha seats in the country. With this, the voting process has been completed in 22 states in the country so far. Understand the complete account of the 4 phases of voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections:-

How many seats have been voted on so far?

With the fourth phase, elections have been completed on more than half of the Lok Sabha seats in the country.
There are a total of 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country.


1st Phase- Voting took place on 102 seats in 21 states in the first phase on April 19.
2nd Phase- Votes were cast on 88 seats in 12 states in the second phase on April 26.
3rd Phase- Votes were cast on a total of 93 Lok Sabha seats in 11 states in the third phase on May 7.
4th Phase- Voting was completed on 96 seats in 10 states on May 13.

Overall, voting has been done on 379 Lok Sabha seats in the country so far. Now voting will take place on 49 seats in the fifth phase, 58 seats in the sixth phase and 57 seats in the seventh and last phase.

1- Lok Sabha elections in these 22 states/union territories have ended

Lok Sabha elections in these 22 states/union territories have ended with the fourth phase. Lok Sabha elections have ended in many states. The election process ended with the fourth phase in Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Assam, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Arunachal Pradesh.

2- These states have one Lok Sabha seat each

The first state with the least number of Lok Sabha seats in the country is North-East Sikkim. This state has only one Lok Sabha seat, which is unreserved. Voting has been done here in the first phase on 19th April. After this, the second state with the least number of Lok Sabha seats is Nagaland. Here too there is only one Lok Sabha seat and this too is unreserved. Voting has been done in the first phase in Nagaland too. Mizoram also has one Lok Sabha seat, which is reserved for the ST category. Voting process has been conducted here too on 19th April.

3- How much percentage of voting has taken place in which state so far?

Tamil Nadu has 39 Lok Sabha seats. A total of 69.72% voting took place here. Uttarakhand has 5 Lok Sabha seats. 57.22% voting took place here. Voting took place in a single phase on all 20 seats of Kerala. The voting percentage was 71.27. 75.20% voting was recorded on 2 Lok Sabha seats of Goa. Arunachal Pradesh has 2 Lok Sabha seats. 77.68% voting took place here. 57.73% votes were cast on the only seat of Nagaland. 56.87% voting took place on the only seat of Mizoram. 

4- 79.88% voting was recorded in Sikkim’s only Lok Sabha seat

76.60% voting took place in 2 seats of Meghalaya. Voting was conducted in 3 phases for 11 Lok Sabha seats of Chhattisgarh. 68.29% voting took place in the first phase, 76.24% in the second phase and 71.06% in the third phase. Voting was also conducted in 3 phases for 14 Lok Sabha seats of Assam. In Assam, 78.25% voting took place in the first phase, 81.17% in the second phase and 81.71% in the third phase.

5- Voting in two phases for 2 seats in Manipur

Voting was conducted in two phases for 2 seats in Manipur. 76.10% voting took place in the first phase and 84.85% in the second phase. Voting was also conducted in two phases for 2 seats in Tripura. The voting percentage in the first phase was 81.48% and in the second phase it was 80.36%. Voting was conducted in two phases for 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. 57.65% voting took place in the first phase and 65.05% in the second phase. Voting was also conducted in two phases for 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. 69.56% votes were cast in the first phase and 70.41% in the second phase.

6- Till the fourth phase, which state had the highest and which state had the lowest voting?

– In the first phase, the highest voting was in Tripura (80%). The lowest voting was in Bihar at 48%. 
– In the second phase, the highest voting was in Tripura at around 78.63%. The lowest voting was in Maharashtra, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh at around 54%. –
In the third phase, the highest voting was in Assam (81.71%). The lowest voting was in UP at 57.34%.
– In the fourth phase, the highest voting was in West Bengal (75.66%). The lowest voting was recorded in Jammu and Kashmir. Here, 35.75% voting took place.

7- In which states assembly elections were held along with Lok Sabha elections?

Along with Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections were held in 4 states Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
Voting was held on 19 April for 32 seats in Sikkim. Votes have been cast on 19 April for 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh. Voting was held on 13 May for 175 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh. Assembly elections are to be completed in 4 phases for 147 seats in Odisha. Voting for the first phase was held on 13 May. Voting for the second phase will be held on 20 May, for the third phase on 25 May and for the fourth phase on 1 June.

8- Who is competing with whom in these 4 states?

In Odisha, there is a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government. Here BJP is in direct competition. Naveen Patnaik has been the Chief Minister here since 2000. In Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Jagan Mohan Reddy is the Chief Minister. Here, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), actor Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena and BJP alliance are contesting the elections together. In Arunachal Pradesh, there is a BJP government under the leadership of Pema Khandu. While in Sikkim, there is a Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) government under the leadership of Prem Singh Tamang. BJP is in alliance. Apart from this, local parties have also contested the elections.
