Game of Votes, Lok Sabha Elections 2024: An alliance has been formed between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress in Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Of the seven seats in Delhi, four have gone to the Aam Aadmi Party. At the same time, Congress will contest elections on three seats. Aam Aadmi Party will field candidates from South Delhi, West Delhi, East Delhi and New Delhi Lok Sabha seats, while Congress will contest from Chandni Chowk, North West Delhi and North East Delhi seats. After this it has been decided that all the votes of the Gandhi family will go to the Aam Aadmi Party candidate. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal’s vote will go to the Congress candidate.
All members of the Gandhi family are voters of New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi voted at the polling booth in Aurangzeb Senior Secondary School. At the same time, Sonia Gandhi went to Nirman Bhawan and Priyanka Gandhi with her husband Robert Vadra went to Lodhi State to vote. In such a situation, all these leaders will vote for the Aam Aadmi Party candidate instead of the Congress candidate.
Mukul Wasnik announced about alliance with AAP
Congress leader Mukul Wasnik announced that the AAP will contest the New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and East Delhi seats, while his party will contest the Chandni Chowk, Northeast Delhi, and Northwest Delhi seats. “In Gujarat, the AAP will contest from Bharuch and Bhavnagar, while the Congress will field its candidates from the remaining 24 seats in the state. In Haryana, the AAP will contest the Lok Sabha polls from Kurukshetra. The Congress will contest both the Lok Sabha seats in Goa,” he said. The Congress will also contest the lone seat in Chandigarh, Wasnik said.
Kejriwal will become a Congress voter
Arvind Kejriwal had voted in Civil Lines in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He is a voter of Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha seat of Delhi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This seat has gone to Congress’s account in the alliance. In such a situation, Arvind Kejriwal will vote for the Congress candidate. Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal will also vote for the Congress candidate.
Apart from Delhi, alliance has been made in these states
Apart from Delhi, alliance has also been made between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh and Goa. With mutual consent, both the parties have decided to contest elections separately in Punjab. AAP will contest from Kurukshetra seat in Haryana and Bharuch-Bhavnagar seat in Gujarat. Congress will contest the remaining seats in the state.
In Uttar Pradesh also, Congress has formed an alliance with Samajwadi Party. Here Congress will contest elections on 17 seats and Samajwadi Party on 63 seats. However, till now there has been no talk on alliance in West Bengal. Mamta Banerjee has announced to contest elections alone in the entire state. Congress is still trying to negotiate with Mamata.
