INDIA Alliance mega rally in Delhi: Before the Lok Sabha elections, a big rally was organized by the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (INDIA) at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Many leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Sitaram Yechury participated in this rally. Five-point demands have been put forward by the opposition parties from Ramlila Maidan. These include the demand for the immediate release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra put forth these demands on behalf of the ‘India’ alliance from the stage in the opposition’s ‘Loktantra Bachao Maharally’.
The opposition said that “The Election Commission should ensure equal opportunity in the Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission should stop the action taken by the investigating agencies against the opposition parties with the aim of rigging the elections. Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately. The coercive action of financially strangling the opposition political parties during the elections should be stopped immediately. “

“Match fixing in Lok Sabha elections”: Rahul Gandhi furious at BJP
Addressing the ‘Maharally’ of INDIA alliance at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, “These days IPL matches are going on. All of you have heard the word match fixing. When a match is won by dishonestly pressurizing the umpire and buying players. We have Lok Sabha elections ahead of us, two players from our team were arrested and put in jail before the match started.
This slogan of theirs of crossing 400 cannot cross 80 without match fixing… Congress party is the biggest opposition party. All our bank accounts have been closed. In the middle of the elections, the bank accounts of the country’s biggest opposition party were closed. All our resources were shut down. What kind of election is this? Leaders are put in jail… this is an attempt to do match fixing.

Along with Mallikarjun Kharge, Farooq Abdullah, Akhilesh Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, Priyanka Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, Sonia Gandhi also participated in the mega rally organized by Aam Aadmi Party. Sonia Gandhi greeted the crowd with folded hands.

Sunita Kejriwal read Kejriwal’s message in the opposition alliance’s mega rally. He said, “My dear Indians, all of you please accept the greetings of your son. Addressing the ‘Maharally’ of INDIA alliance, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, “…Democracy in the country is in danger… This country is not anyone’s father’s property. This is a country of 140 crore people… What do they (BJP) think, kill this person, put that person in jail, freeze these leaders, will you win like this?… Those who rule the hearts rule, in a way, only the roosters have crowns on their heads… I salute them that they (Kalpana Soren and Sunita Soren) have suffered so much, what all have they not seen… You (BJP) can arrest Arvind Kejriwal but how will you arrest his thinking?… Arvind Kejriwal is not a person, Arvind Kejriwal is the name of thinking… “
Addressing the ‘Maharally’ of the INDIA alliance, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said, “…a new energy has emerged in Indian politics today which is present here. This energy will make the Constitution of India and democracy win and will defeat the forces of dictatorship…”

In the INDIA alliance mega rally, NCP-SCP chief Sharad Pawar said, “…This government (central government) has arrested the CM of Delhi, the CM of Jharkhand and has also put many other leaders of different states in jail. This action is an attack on democracy and the constitution… It is our responsibility to save it (democracy)…”
