Is India Alliance Cracking?: The winter session of Parliament started on 25 November 2024, after which the period of uproar continued continuously. While the entire focus of the Congress party is on the Adani case, the Samajwadi Party and the Trinamool Congress want to discuss some other issues in Parliament. Looking at the current situation, one thing is becoming clear that everything is not going well in the India Alliance at the moment.

SP-TMC did not support Congress
The opposition may have walked out of the Lok Sabha on the Adani issue, but when the opposition leaders were protesting in the premises after the walkout, not a single leader of SP and TMC reached there.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, MP Priyanka Gandhi, RJD’s Misa Bharti, Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh and Shiv Sena UBT’s Arvind Sawant took part in the protest on the stairs leading to the Makar Dwar of Parliament. During this, banners and placards with slogans like Modi-Adani are one and India wants accountability from Adani were seen in the hands of the opposition MPs.
TMC did not attend the meeting with Kharge
Earlier on Monday (2 December 2024), before the proceedings of Parliament, the leaders of the India Alliance met the Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge. Rahul Gandhi also attended this meeting, while no TMC MP reached. T
he Trinamool Congress wants that issues like farmers, inflation, unemployment, reduction in money given to opposition states and Manipur should be discussed in Parliament, while the Congress is adamant that only the Adani issue should be discussed. The stand of the Samajwadi Party is also more or less similar to that of TMC.
Why did SP not support Congress?
During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, SP MP Akhilesh Yadav raised the issue of Sambhal violence loudly. He first sought permission from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to speak on this issue and then said that five people have lost their lives in Sambhal violence, which is a very serious matter. The Speaker suggested raising this issue during Zero Hour, after which Akhilesh Yadav himself and his party MPs started walking out in protest.
Samajwadi Party MPs also met the Lok Sabha Speaker on Tuesday (3 December 2024), requesting a discussion on issues related to Sambhal violence. The SP MP said that for his party, the issue of farmers is bigger than Adani.
