Jharkhand Elections 2024, BJP Manifesto: Encouraged by the Haryana victory, the BJP has made a flurry of promises in the Jharkhand assembly elections as well. The BJP has released its manifesto for the Jharkhand assembly elections on Sunday. BJP’s stalwart leader and the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah released this manifesto. After releasing the manifesto for the Jharkhand assembly elections, Amit Shah challenged Hemant Soren and said that every single thing written in it is etched in stone and will definitely fulfill it. To woo JMM’s core tribal voters, BJP has promised to give Rs 2100 per month and Rs 25000 annually under the Gogo Didi scheme. It has also promised to give 2 free gas cylinders on the occasion of Diwali and Raksha Bandhan, and to provide jobs and employment to 5 lakh youth in 5 years. BJP’s manifesto also promises to fill 2,37,500 government posts. The resolution letter talks about issuing notification for 1.5 lakh vacant posts by November 2025.

Preparations to break into JMM’s core voters
Under BJP’s 25 Sankalp on 25 years of Jharkhand, many announcements have been made to save Roti, Beti and Mati and to take PM Modi’s guarantee to the people. BJP has advocated implementing UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code in Jharkhand as well. But, it has promised to keep the tribals out of it. There has also been talk of strict action against infiltrators.

Let us tell you that this Sankalp Patra of BJP is quite similar to the last Haryana assembly elections. Because BJP had also promised to give Rs 2100 every month to all women in Haryana under the Lado Laxmi Yojana. In Jharkhand too, every woman has been promised Rs 2100 under the Gogo Didi Yojana. Keeping the tribals in mind, BJP has mentioned in the Sankalp Patra that Gogo Didi Yojana, Laxmi Johar Yojana, Assured Employment Yojana, Yuva Saath Allowance, Sapno Ka Ghar Saakar Hoga, Zero Tolerance Policy against Corruption, Mukhiya Salary, Operation Security, Farmer Security Policy, Cutting and Pruning Prevention, One Rupee Stamp Duty, Control on Bangladeshi Infiltration, Free Education, Sido-Kanho Research Center, Phool-Jhano Padho Bitiya, Maternity Security Scheme and many schemes in the interest of tribals in Jharkhand have been started.
How important are tribals for BJP?
Let us tell you that Jharkhand is a tribal dominated state. The tribal population here is about 26 percent. 28 out of 81 seats of Jharkhand assembly are reserved for tribals. 5 out of 14 seats of Lok Sabha are reserved for tribals. Whether it is Lok Sabha election or assembly election, the key to power in Jharkhand always remains with the tribals.
Fight of tribals vs tribals?
Tribals are a big issue in every election in Jharkhand. Except Raghuvar Das, all the CMs of Jharkhand till now have come from the tribal community. The first CM of the state Babu Lal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Shibu Soren, Madhu Koda, Hemant Soren and Champai Soren all come from the tribal community. In this election, four former CMs are working for BJP. In this regard, BJP has given special preference to tribal voters in its manifesto. Because, urban and non-tribal people have already been the core voters of BJP.
28 seats dominated by tribals were decisive
Since 2005, BJP’s performance in tribal-dominated areas of the state has not been up to expectations. In 2005, the party won only 5 out of 28 seats. In 2009 too, BJP won only 9 seats in tribal-dominated areas. However, in the 2014 elections, BJP won 11 out of these 28 seats. BJP experimented with making a non-tribal CM under the leadership of Raghuvar Das, which did not prove right for BJP.
Who dominates the tribal dominated assembly seats?
BJP lost the 2019 elections and Hemant Soren became the CM. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP won only 2 out of these 28 seats. As a result, Hemant Soren’s party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress won a one-sided victory in tribal areas. In this year’s Lok Sabha elections too, India Alliance won 5 Lok Sabha seats reserved for tribals.
How can tribals and Muslims spoil BJP’s calculations?
In such a situation, BJP has put special focus on tribals in its manifesto this time. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has made special preparations as Amit Shah’s trump card. Because, if JMM’s 26 percent tribal votes and 14 percent Muslim population are combined, then it can create problems for BJP. Therefore, BJP has prepared a plan in the Sankalp Patra to divide the tribal voters by luring the tribal voters. If this plan succeeds, then the JMM alliance may have to suffer a lot.
Overall, this time BJP has put all its strength in wooing the tribal vote bank. Babu Lal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Kariya Munda, Champai Soren, Lobin Hembram, Sita Soren, Madhu Koda and Geeta Koda are some of the prominent tribal faces who are working day and night for BJP. Meanwhile, leaders like Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Himanta Biswa Sarma are continuously camping in Jharkhand. Amit Shah held three rallies on Sunday. Now, PM Modi is scheduled to hold two meetings in Jharkhand on Monday. Voting will be held in two phases for the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand. The first phase of elections will be held on November 13 and then the second phase of voting will be held on November 20. Voting will be held on November 23.
