Maharashtra Elections:  Whose game will Asaduddin Owaisi‘s party AIMIM spoil in the Maharashtra assembly elections? The suspense about this will end only on the day of the results, but the previous results are telling that this time too many parties are going to get a shock from the current of AIMIM. Especially, Mahavikas Aghadi is more afraid, because most of the Muslim voters vote for Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar) included in the Mahavikas Aghadi. Let us tell you that the base vote of AIMIM is Muslims and this can harm the Mahavikas Aghadi. But, apart from Mahavikas Aghadi and Mahayuti alliance, many small parties are also in the fray in the Maharashtra assembly elections. In such a situation, the lines of concern of all the big parties and both the alliances are clearly visible.

In this Maharashtra election, Bahujan Aghadi and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) are also contesting on many seats. According to experts, these parties have the potential to cause a big upset in the elections. These two parties can spoil the game of both Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi.

Will AIMIM spoil Congress’ game this time too?

This time AIMIM is contesting on 16 seats in Maharashtra elections. These seats are around Mumbai. This time AIMIM has prepared a plan to give a shock to both the big alliances by fielding 4 Dalit and 12 Muslim candidates and forming an alliance of Dalits and Muslims. Mahavikas Aghadi may get a shock from Muslim votes and Mahayuti may get a shock from Dalit votes. Let us tell you that in the 2019 elections, Owaisi’s party contested on 44 seats. However, this time AIMIM is contesting on fewer seats than last time.

Who benefits from the division of Muslim and Dalit votes?

Congress leaders are making many allegations against Owaisi’s party. Congress leaders say that AIMIM’s aim is to benefit the Mahayuti by dividing the anti-BJP vote. That is why the party has chosen Muslim and reserved seats. But the people of Maharashtra do not want to repeat the Haryana result here. That is why the MVA is cautious this time.

How many seats did AIMIM contest in 2029?

Let us tell you that out of the 16 seats on which AIMIM has fielded candidates, most of them are with Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena Uddhav. Although AIMIM is claiming to contest on strong seats in this election, Owaisi’s party is contesting against Mahavikas Aghadi candidates on most of the seats. In such a situation, it is believed that the position of BJP, especially Mahayuti, is good on these seats.

Overall, it is being said that this time too, the Mahayuti is going to get direct benefit in the seats where AIMIM is contesting the elections. Like last time, this time too, division of Dalit and Muslim votes is considered certain. In 2019, AIMIM contested 44 seats and won two.

Political equation of Maharashtra

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP was reduced from 23 to 9, Maratha reservation is the biggest challenge

In Maharashtra, there is a Mahayuti government i.e. Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP Ajit Pawar group. Dealing with anti-incumbency and division of votes among 6 big parties will be a big challenge for the party.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, out of 48 seats in Maharashtra, India alliance got 30 and NDA got 17 seats. BJP got 9, Shiv Sena got 7 and NCP got only 1 seat. BJP lost 23 seats. NDA got 41 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2014, this figure was 42. That is, less than half.

According to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP will be reduced to around 60 seats. A survey of the opposition alliance has predicted that MVA i.e. Mahavikas Aghadi will get 160 seats out of 288 seats in the state. The Maratha movement is the biggest challenge for the BJP. Apart from this, after the rift in Shiv Sena and NCP, people have sympathy with Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar.

Maharashtra: 1.85 crore voters in the age group of 20-29 years

The Chief Election Commissioner said that there are a total of 9.63 crore voters in Maharashtra. Out of these, 4.97 crore are male voters and 4.66 crore are female voters. There are 1.85 crore voters in the age group of 20-29 years. While 20.93 lakh first time voters will vote for the first time.
