Temple Politics: Before the Lok Sabha elections, BJP is trying to cash in by making the Ram temple built in Ayodhya an issue. Its effect is going to be visible from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The DMK government is going to organize an international conference on Lord Murugan, known as the ‘Tamil God’.
According to the report of Times of India, the international conference will be organized in June or July. Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister PK Shekharbabu said that exhibitions, conferences and research papers on Lord Murugan will be presented in the conference. Political parties turning towards Lord Murugan in Tamil Nadu is not a new thing. The BJP had organized the ‘Vel Yatra’ in 2020, when L Murugan was the Tamil Nadu BJP president.

DMK surrenders to God for the first time
The most surprising thing about the ‘Temple Politics’ happening in Tamil Nadu is that DMK, to some extent, believes in atheist ideology. However, party leaders are not stopped from visiting temples or mosques. However, this is the first time that the DMK government led by Chief Minister MK Stalin is turning to God. DMK is not doing politics: Minister Shekhar Babu
Responding to BJP, Minister Shekharbabu said that there is no politics involved in organizing an international conference. The state government has been spending on Lord Murugan since coming to power. He said that we have included Tiruchendur Murugan temple in the master plan of the state government and have allocated Rs 300 crore for the renovation of the temple. We also allocated Rs 100 crore for the renovation of Palani Murugan temple.Â
