Grand Celebrations at Chhath Ghats Across India
On the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja, devotees gathered in large numbers at ghats across major cities like Delhi, Patna, and Ranchi. Crowds thronged the banks of rivers and ghats to offer Arghya to the setting sun, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar performing rituals in Patna. BJP National President J.P. Nadda, along with RJD leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, were also present, highlighting the festival’s significance in the region. Patna’s College Ghat saw thousands of devotees offering their heartfelt prayers.
Security Measures Enhanced for Chhath Mahaparva
In Lucknow, elaborate security measures were put in place for the Chhath festival. Traffic diversions were organized to manage the flow of devotees and ensure ease of access to worship locations. The main event venue was secured with personnel from the traffic police, civil police, and women’s units. CCTV surveillance was also established to monitor activities, with crowds gathering in large numbers at Lucknow’s Laxman Mela ground. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was seen observing Chhath Puja rituals.
Lakhs of Devotees in Delhi for Sandhya Puja
In Delhi, thousands of worshippers flocked to Kalindi Kunj Chhath Ghat for Sandhya Arghya, offering prayers to the setting sun. Among them was BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, who joined devotees in performing rituals. The event attracted a vast crowd, reinforcing Chhath’s popularity in the capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the occasion, sharing his wishes for happiness and prosperity on social media.
Meticulous Arrangements for Noida Celebrations
Chhath Puja festivities were organized at 46 locations across Noida, with comprehensive arrangements in place. Police personnel, including women constables and NDRF teams, were deployed to ensure safety. Ambulances were on standby for emergencies, and traffic diversions helped ease movement in crowded areas. The local administration took every measure to maintain a smooth and peaceful celebration for the community.
Ranchi Joins in Chhath Spirit
In Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in the Sandhya Arghya rituals alongside thousands of devotees. Ghats in the city witnessed huge turnouts as people performed rituals with great enthusiasm. The festive atmosphere was marked by dedication and reverence, making Chhath Puja a vibrant celebration across Jharkhand as devotees came together to honor the sun deity and seek blessings for their families.
