T20 World Cup 2024: Australia has defeated England. The Englishmen led by Jos Buttler had to face defeat by 36 runs. England had a target of 202 runs, but could score only 165 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In this way, Australia registered its second win of the tournament. Earlier, the Kangaroos had defeated Oman. After this victory, Australia has got 4 points in 2 matches. Also, Australia has topped Group-B.

Jos Buttler and Phil Salt shone, but then…

England had a great start while batting in response to Australia’s 201 runs. For England, openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt added 73 runs in 7.1 overs for the first wicket. Phil Salt returned to the pavilion after scoring 37 runs off 23 balls. While English captain Jos Buttler contributed 42 runs off 28 balls. However, Will Jacks was out after scoring 10 runs off 10 balls.

England’s middle order disappointed

For England, Moeen Ali scored 25 runs in 15 balls. While Liam Livingstone contributed 15 runs in 12 balls. Batsmen like Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook and Will Jacks disappointed. For Australia, Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa took the maximum 2-2 wickets. Apart from this, Josh Hazlewood and Marcus Stoinis got 1-1 success.

Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell shine

After David Warner and Travis Head returned to the pavilion, captain Mitchell Marsh and Glen Maxwell took charge. Australia suffered the third blow at the score of 139 runs. Mitchell Marsh was out after scoring 35 runs off 25 balls. Tim David’s flop form continued. Tim David became the victim of Chris Jordan after scoring 11 runs off 8 balls.

Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade added crucial runs

However, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade added important runs in the last overs. Marcus Stoinis scored 30 runs off 17 balls. While Matthew Wade scored 17 runs off 10 balls. In this way Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade finished in a great manner.

This was the condition of the English bowlers 

Talking about England’s bowlers, Chris Jordan took the maximum of 2 wickets. Apart from this, Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone got 1-1 success.
