IND vs ENG: India lost the first Test played against England in Hyderabad by 28 runs. Team India, which was ahead in the match for almost three days, made many big mistakes due to which they went on the back foot and on the fourth day itself the English team won. But what mistakes did Team India make due to which they had to lose the won match? So we will tell you five big reasons for India’s defeat.

1- Ollie Pope missed the catch

Ollie Pope gave life to England, who were almost out of the match. Pope brought the English team back into the competition by playing an inning of 196 runs. But if Axar Patel had caught Pope, he would not have been able to play such a big innings and perhaps India would have won the match. Actually, when Ollie Pope was on the score of 110 runs, when Akshar Patel dropped the catch of Ollie Pope on the ball of Ravindra Jadeja.

2- Rohit Sharma losing the toss

Toss is very important in the Test played in India. On the pitches here, the spinners start getting turn from the very first day and as the competition increases, it becomes more difficult to bat against the spinners on the pitch. In such a situation, Rohit Sharma losing the toss was also a major reason for the defeat, because England won the toss and batted on a fresh pitch.

3- Sudden change in batting order

During the second innings, sudden changes were seen in India’s batting order. Actually, Axar Patel, who batted in the lower order, was dropped at number five as a left hand batsman, who played at number 9 in the first innings. If only the left-handed batsman had to be sent up, then Jadeja, who had scored 87 runs in the previous innings, could have been sent. Due to Akshar coming on top, Shreyas Iyer had to come down and he also flopped. There was no point in demoting Iyer.

4- Not having a reliable batsman at number three

Shubman Gill took the responsibility of number three for India. Gill flopped in both the innings. In the first innings he scored 23 runs and in the second innings he could not even open the account. In such a situation, India had to face a lot of problems due to the absence of a reliable batsman at number three. Batsmen like Pujara used to play long innings for India at number three or did not allow wickets to fall. But these days he is out of the team.

5- Getting caught in your own web of spin

The pitch is always a topic of discussion in Tests played in India. On Indian pitches, spinners start getting turn from the very first day, which becomes difficult for both the teams. But this time the spin friendly pitch caused loss to India. A completely spin friendly pitch may not be good from a Test point of view.

It came right down to the wire in Hyderabad but it's England who win the closely-fought contest.#TeamIndia will aim to bounce back in the next game.
