T20 World Cup 2024 India Squad Announced: The Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has been announced. A 15-member team was selected in a meeting held in Ahmedabad on Tuesday 30 April. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar reached the hotel in the afternoon. Earlier, Agarkar also met Indian captain Rohit Sharma in Delhi. The ICC T20 World Cup is to be played in West Indies and America from 1 to 29 June.

Rishabh Pant, the main wicketkeeper
Rishabh Pant, who made a comeback in the Indian Premier League after a car accident, got a ticket to the T20 World Cup on the basis of his strong performance. The selectors have given him a place in the team as the main wicketkeeper. Sanju Samson has been included in the team as the second wicketkeeper.
The board expressed confidence in Shivam-Akshar
BCCI has also expressed confidence in Shivam Dubey and Akshar Patel. Shivam is playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He is an expert in explosive batting. Along with this, he also plays the role of a finisher. Shivam Dubey has scored 350 runs in 9 matches of this season. During this, he has scored 3 half-centuries. Talking about Akshar, he has shown amazing performance in batting as well as bowling.
Shubman Gill-Rinku Singh in reserve
Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh have not been included in the 15-member team. Both these cricketers have been included in the reserve players. Fast bowlers Khalil Ahmed and Avesh Khan are also included in the list of reserve players. All four reserve players will be with the Indian team on the West Indies and America tour.

The selectors have kept their trust in all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Pandya has been retained as the vice-captain of the team. Apart from Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey has also been selected as a pace all-rounder in the team. Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel have been given place in the spin all-rounder.

The suspense over Virat Kohli’s selection is also over. During IPL 2024, Virat Kohli was being criticized for his low strike rate. But the selectors have retained Kohli in the team.
