T20 World Cup 2024: Australia’s experienced fast bowler Pat Cummins has created history in the ICC T20 World Cup. This bowler, who did the feat of taking a hat-trick in the last match against Bangladesh, did the same feat again in the very next match. In the ICC T20 World Cup Super 8 match against Afghanistan, he did the feat of taking a hat-trick once again. The interesting thing is that in both the matches, he completed the hat-trick in two overs.

Pat Cummins has become the first bowler in ICC T20 World Cup history to take a hat-trick in two consecutive matches. Against Afghanistan, this veteran dismissed Rashid Khan in the 17.6th over. After this, when he bowled a new over, he dismissed Karim Jannat on the first ball and then dismissed Gulbadin Naib on the second ball.
Hat-trick against Bangladesh
Pat Cummins had taken a similar hat-trick against Bangladesh in the last match. He did this feat not on three consecutive balls of one over but on three consecutive balls in two overs. He clean bowled Mahmudullah in 17.5 overs and then got Mehdi Hasan caught by Adam Zampa on the next ball. Coming in the next over, he completed the hat-trick by dismissing Tauheed Hridaya on the first ball.
Afghanistan’s hopes dashed
Afghanistan’s openers Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz gave the team a strong start by making a century partnership against Australia. Both the batsmen got out after scoring fifties. Marcus Stoinis broke this pair and then Adam Jampa took wickets consecutively and dashed the team’s hopes of a big score. In the end, Pat Cummins took a hat-trick and stopped Afghanistan at 148 runs for 6 wickets.
