The New Zealand team won the T20 World Cup by winning the final against champion South Africa, who became the team after losing 10 matches in a row.This victory is memorable because before entering the tournament, this team had lost 10 T20 Internationals in a row. Before playing in the World Cup, New Zealand women’s team toured England and Australia. Before that, England defeated the Kiwi team 4-1 at home. Before the start of the World Cup, England whitewashed India 5-0 while Australia clean swept the three-match series. The team entered the T20 World Cup after losing 7 matches in a row to England and then 3 matches to Australia.

On the basis of Amelia Kerr’s all-round performance, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 32 runs in the final and won this title for the first time. ‘Player of the Match’ Kerr dominated the match by scoring the highest 43 runs with the bat and then taking three wickets. She laid the foundation of a big score by sharing 57 runs in 44 balls for the fourth wicket with Brooke Halliday (38). After being invited to bat first, New Zealand scored 158 runs for the loss of 5 wickets and then restricted the last time’s runner-up team South Africa to 126 runs for 9 wickets and did not let their dream of becoming champion come true.
