Delhi Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department has predicted relief from the scorching heat. Despite this, there is no possibility of relief from hot winds. On Wednesday, 29 May, Delhi’s Mungeshpur area recorded a maximum temperature of 52.9°C, the highest ever in the capital. However, the ministry later stated that this was likely due to technical errors in data recording.

Signs of change in Delhi’s weather. Possibility of relief from scorching heat

According to IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi’s Mungeshpur, Najafgarh and Narela areas has crossed 50 degrees Celsius. Residents living in high temperature areas are taking various measures to avoid the heat.

Amit Kumar, a resident of Najafgarh, shared his family’s struggle due to the heat and said that they are trying to avoid stepping out as much as possible. My brother got sick due to the heat and now we are taking extra precautions.

Amit Kumar, a resident of Najafgarh, shared his family’s struggle due to the heat and said that they are trying to avoid stepping out as much as possible. My brother got sick due to the heat and now we are taking extra precautions.

Mungeshpur resident Jai Pandit said, “It feels like the hot air is burning the skin and affecting my health. How long can you sit inside? One or two days, maybe three days. You can’t just stay indoors. To live, to survive, you have to go out, but it is difficult to deal with this heat. I often feel headache and fever while returning home in this weather.”

In Mungeshpur, the mercury had reached 49.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, which is nine degrees more than normal.

The maximum temperature in Najafgarh was recorded at 49.8 degrees Celsius yesterday, while Pitampura and Pusa recorded 48.5 degrees. Citizens of Delhi including these areas are also expressing their disappointment on the social media platform ‘X’.

On Wednesday (29 May), the heat broke all records in Delhi and the maximum temperature recorded in Mungeshpur area was 52.9 degrees Celsius. This was the highest temperature ever recorded in the national capital. Now on this matter, the ministry said that probably due to technical problems, wrong data was recorded. 

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said that it was checking the sensors and data of the meteorological centre of the region for any possible error. Delhi has been in the grip of severe heat for the last few days.

At least three weather stations – Mungeshpur, Narela and Najafgarh – recorded temperatures around 50 degrees Celsius on Tuesday as well. Delhi’s primary meteorological center Safdarjung Observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 46.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the highest in 79 years. This information was given in official data. On the matter, Minister of Earth Sciences and Food Processing Industries Kiren Rijiju posted on the social media platform X and said that the official statement of the Meteorological Department has come.

Shocking 52.9 Temperature

Earlier, Union Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Rijiju said in a post on ‘X’, “It is not officially confirmed yet. 52.3 degrees Celsius in Delhi is likely to be a very low temperature. Our senior officials in IMD have been asked to confirm the news report. The official position will be given soon. ” According to the data of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 46.7 degrees Celsius on June 17, 1945. 

Weather pattern changed in Delhi

There was a sudden change in the weather in Delhi on Wednesday evening and the sky became cloudy and there was light drizzle in some areas, which brought some relief to the people of Delhi. However, this may increase the level of humidity, which may increase the discomfort of the people, because according to the forecast, the outbreak of heat and heat will continue in the coming days. According to the IMD, the relative humidity of Delhi during the day was between 43 percent and 30 percent. The temperature in the city is witnessing a steady increase in the last days of May.
