Extreme Weather: Monsoon 2024 has brought heavy rainfall to many areas across the country. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in several states, including Rajasthan. However, this year, the weather patterns seem to have shifted dramatically. Rajasthan, known for its arid climate and minimal rainfall, is now being drenched by the monsoon. In stark contrast, Kashmir, famous for its cold weather, is grappling with an unprecedented heatwave. This extreme heat has upset the local population, raising concerns about the region’s climate stability. The persistent tampering with nature has led to these drastic changes. While other states face torrential rains, Kashmir is enduring severe heat, with temperatures breaking 25-year records for July. What have we done to Kashmir, the paradise of the country?

Actually, Kashmir is in the grip of severe heat and on Sunday, the highest temperature of July in 25 years was recorded at many places in the valley. Now the question is, how much have we messed with nature that Kashmir is experiencing such intense heat in July.

The condition is so bad due to the scorching heat that an order has been issued to close the schools so that it does not affect the children. The Kashmir School Department has ordered the closure of schools from 20 to 30 July due to the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Srinagar city was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday. This was the hottest July day since 9 July 1999, when the mercury had reached 37 degrees Celsius.
