Delhi-NCR Weather Updates: The effect of dense fog is being seen in Delhi at present. Trains and flights are getting canceled due to falling temperatures and dense fog. Due to Republic Day preparations and dense fog, more than 150 flights have been delayed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Meteorological Department has said that there is going to be light to dense fog in Delhi on Wednesday. The fog may clear up for some time after 8.30 am.

A slight increase has been recorded in the minimum temperature in Delhi. The minimum temperature has increased from 6.1 degrees to 6.9 degrees. Gradually the effect of ‘cold day’ is also reducing. Even on Wednesday, passengers traveling by train and plane are not going to get any relief.

Due to dense fog, both modes of transport are going to be affected. SpiceJet has warned passengers that there may be disruption in flights on Wednesday also. The reason for this is low visibility.

trains running late

Indian Railways said that 26 trains were running late in Delhi on Monday. On Tuesday also, around 20 trains were affected due to dense fog. The effect of dense fog and bad weather in Delhi is going to continue on Wednesday (January 24) also. More than two dozen trains coming to and from Delhi are running late. Passengers were seen waiting for hours for trains at New Delhi Railway Station, Anand Vihar Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.

There is going to be relief from ‘cold day’

The Meteorological Department says that the people of Delhi-NCR are going to get relief from the cold day. The maximum temperature is going to be around 20 degrees this entire week, while the minimum temperature can go up to 8 degrees. Skymet Vice-President Mahesh Palawat has said that the weather is going to be clear on Wednesday, as there is very little chance of a cold day. By this week, the effect of western disturbance will be visible in the capital, due to which the minimum temperature will increase to 9-11 degrees.

What will be the minimum temperature?

The minimum temperature in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and North-West Uttar Pradesh can go up to 3-5 degrees. The minimum temperature this week is going to be 6-10 degrees in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Bihar. While people of Delhi-NCR are going to get relief from cold day, cold day warning has been issued in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Cold wave is also going to prevail in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

School closed in Prayagraj

Schools of all boards including CBSE Board, ICSE Board and Council Board will remain closed due to cold. 25th January is already declared holiday on Hazrat Ali’s birthday.
