Iran-Israel Conflict: Iran attacked Israel with more than 300 ballistic missiles and drones on Saturday night and early Sunday, although Israel has claimed to have shot down 99 percent of these missiles and drones in time. Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said that Iran had fired 170 drones, more than 30 cruise missiles and more than 120 ballistic missiles. 99 percent of these launches have been stopped.
Israel also released a video on Sunday, in which Israeli soldiers are seen shooting down missiles fired by Iran. However, despite this, several ballistic missiles reached Israeli territory, causing minor damage to an airport.
Iran carried out these attacks specifically in Jerusalem, the Negev desert and Dead Sea in the south, the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in the north, as well as the occupied West Bank. US, Jordan and Britain saved Israel from attack
Israel’s Kan TV news reported that about 100 of the approximately 400-500 drones launched were intercepted before they reached Israel by allied countries including US, Jordanian and British forces.
The Israeli rescue service said in a statement that a 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in a Beduin village in the Negev. Parts of the missile fell near Umm al-Fahm, an Arab town in northern Israel, causing no casualties.
Iran attacks Israel for the first time
Kan TV news quoted a senior Israeli official as saying on Sunday that Israel is planning to respond to the Iranian air strike. The official said, “Iran has fired missiles on Israel for the first time from its soil, it will be responded to, soon.”
On the other hand, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed in a statement on Saturday night that it had attacked Israel with missiles and drones. Kan TV news reported that the drones were launched from Iran as well as Iran’s friendly countries. The Israeli army had earlier said in a statement that “the IDF is on high alert, as well as Israeli Air Force fighter jets and Israeli Navy ships are also on defense mission”.
Meanwhile, two Israeli officials confirmed to Xinhua news agency on condition of anonymity that several cruise missiles were also launched from Iran towards Israel. Iran has carried out attacks on Israel to avenge the killing of seven Iranian officials at the Iranian consular building in Damascus, Syria in early April.
