Plane Crash: South Korea Plane Crash:Â Â A Jeju Air plane carrying 181 people met with an accident at Muan International Airport in South Korea on Sunday (29 December 2024). The month of December 2024 has been no less than a shock for airlines before the arrival of the new year. So far this month (29 December 2024), 6 major plane accidents have taken place, in which a total of 234 people died. In such a situation, questions are now being raised about safety protocols and technical problems in the aviation sector.

1- Plane Crash: 179 Dead in Tragic South Korea Disaster
179 people died in the plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea, while security personnel pulled two people out alive from the debris. The gear of this plane returning from Bangkok did not open during landing, due to which it slipped from the runway and hit the concrete fence. After hitting the fence, a huge fireball came out of the plane, due to which the plane turned into a heap of ashes. 32 fire engines and helicopters were brought to the spot for rescue operation. Investigation is going on as to why the landing gear did not open.
This is the first fatal accident in the history of Jeju Air. Earlier in 2007, a Bombardier Q400 flight operated by Jeju Air veered off the runway due to strong winds at the southern Busan-Gimhae airport. There were 74 people on board the flight and one passenger was injured in the incident.
2- Plane Crash: Azerbaijan Airlines Disaster Shocks the World
Earlier on 25 December 2024, Embraer ERJ-190AR of Azerbaijan Airlines crashed near Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan, killing 38 people. The plane was flying to Grozny in Baku. It had to be diverted due to technical problems and bad weather. After trying to land several times at Grozny Airport, the plane collided with the ground near Aktau Airport. There were 67 passengers on board. The airlines said that the accident was caused by external interference.
3- Plane Crash: 10 Killed in Horrific Brazil Accident
On December 22, ten members of a family were killed when a private plane crashed in the city of Gramado in southern Brazil. Brazilian businessman Luiz Claudio Gallegi, who was flying the plane, died in the accident along with his wife, three daughters and other relatives. According to a Hindustan Times report, the plane hit a chimney of the building, a house and a shop during landing. Local officials said that 17 people present on the ground were injured in the incident.
4- Plane Crash: Tragedy Strikes Papua New Guinea in Deadly Incident
A Britten-Norman BN-2B-26 Islander operated by North Coast Aviation crashed in Papua New Guinea on December 22, killing all five people on board. The plane was on a charter flight from Wasu Airport to Lae-Nadzab. The wreckage of the plane was found the next day, but no survivors were found. The incident is still under investigation.
5- Plane Crash: Argentina Landing Goes Wrong, Plane Hits Fence
Bombardier BD-100-1A10 Challenger 300 crashed near San Fernando Airport in Argentina, killing both pilots. The plane was flying from Punta del Este Airport to San Fernando. After landing, the plane overshot the runway and collided with a fence, causing the plane to catch fire. The right side of the plane broke apart and the pilots died in the fire.Â
6- Plane Crash: Aircraft Slams Into Building Near Honolulu Airport
Kamaka Air Cessna 208 Caravan Flight operated by Kamaka Air LLC crashed near Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, killing both pilots. According to ATC communications, the plane lost control shortly after takeoff and collided with a building. The incident is said to have occurred during training.
