Elections 2024: BJP has so far released 7 lists of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Elections 2024). So far, candidates have been announced on 407 seats. The surprising thing is that in the lists released by the party, tickets of 101 out of 291 current MPs have been cut. The party has cut the tickets of 33 current MPs in the first list of candidates, 30 in the second list, 37 in the fifth list and 1 in the sixth list. Along with this, BJP has given tickets to leaders who came from other parties. Even a leader who left Congress and joined BJP half an hour ago has got a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections. Let us know how many MPs’ tickets BJP has cut so far and how many have been repeated.

BJP has declared candidates for 407 seats, out of which 291 seats have BJP MPs. Out of these MPs, the party has cut the tickets of 101 MPs. According to the data, 34 percent of the current MPs have been denied tickets. In 2019, BJP had cut the tickets of 119 MPs out of its 282 MPs. According to the data at that time, BJP did not field 42% MPs again. This time, it is a matter of relief for many MPs that they have got tickets. There are many MPs who will contest elections for the third time.

Sixth List Introduces New Faces

Talking about the list, BJP’s seventh list released on Wednesday has the names of two candidates from two states. Navneet Rana has been given a ticket from Amravati in Maharashtra. The second name is of Govind Karjol, who will contest from Chitradurga in Karnataka. BJP released the sixth list for the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday. The names of 3 candidates were announced in it. Indudevi Jatav from Karauli-Dholpur in Rajasthan and Kanhaiyalal Meena from Dausa have been made candidates. Thounaojam Basant Kumar Singh has been given a ticket from Inner Manipur. Interestingly, BJP has fielded new candidates on these three seats. While Union Minister Rajkumar’s ticket from Manipur Inner has been cut.

Varun Gandhi did not get ticket from Pilibhit

Amidst all this, the most talked about list is BJP’s fifth list. BJP released the fifth list on 24 March. There were names of 111 candidates in the list. Tickets of many bigwigs were cut. In this list, Varun Gandhi did not get ticket from Pilibhit. Union Minister VK Singh was not made a candidate from Ghaziabad. At the same time, Union Minister Ashwini Choubey’s ticket from Buxar, Bihar was cut. While Anant Kumar Hegde, who was in controversies over his statements, has also been dropped by the party.

It is believed that Varun Gandhi did not get the ticket because of his statements going against the party line. Other parties are offering him tickets, but Varun Gandhi has not yet decided what he will do.

VK Singh’s distance from the workers proved costly

VK Singh’s distance from the workers proved costly for him. Ghaziabad is considered a stronghold of BJP. General VK Singh had won the election here with record votes. Despite this, his ticket was cut. Party sources say that General VK Singh’s distance from the workers proved costly for him. Now Atul Garg is the BJP candidate from this seat.

Mithilesh Tiwari replaced Ashwini Choubey in Buxar

BJP has been occupying the Buxar seat for a long time. First Lalmuni Choubey and then Ashwini Choubey were MPs here. Now the party has made a change here and has fielded Mithilesh Tiwari. If Mithilesh Tiwari is to be believed, the party must have thought of some more responsibility for Ashwini Choubey. That is why he was not given the ticket.

Arun Govil gets ticket from Meerut and Kangana Ranaut from Mandi

Many surprising names came up in BJP’s fifth list. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been given ticket from Mandi seat of Himachal Pradesh. BJP has fielded Arun Govil, who played the live role of Lord Shri Ram in the serial ‘Ramayana’, from Meerut. Maneka Gandhi got ticket from Sultanpur in UP. Naveen Jindal’s ticket from Kurukshetra has been confirmed. He had quit Congress and joined BJP on Sunday only. Sambit Patra will try his luck once again from Puri seat of Odisha, while Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been given a chance from Sambalpur in Odisha.

BJP has cut the tickets of 101 MPs so far

BJP has cut the tickets of 101 MPs so far. These include 6 out of 7 MPs from Delhi. Only Manoj Tiwari has been repeated. He is an MP from North East Delhi. In Karnataka, 12 out of 25 MPs have been dropped this time. In Uttarakhand, 2 out of 5 MPs have been cut. In Rajasthan, 8 MPs’ tickets have been cut. Out of these, 3 have become MLAs. In Assam, 5 out of 9 MPs have been dropped.

In Gujarat, tickets of 15 out of 26 MPs have been cut. In Jharkhand, the party has not given tickets to 5 out of 11 MPs. In Haryana, tickets of 3 MPs have been cut. Among them, one has become CM and one has joined Congress. The party has not repeated 4 MPs in Odisha and 3 MPs in Bihar.

This time BJP has cut the tickets of many controversial MPs. So far no controversial leader has got a ticket. This time the party has cut the ticket of Pragya Thakur. Ramesh Bidhuri’s ticket has also been cut. Pravesh Verma was also dropped. Pratap Simha also did not get a chance. Anant Kumar Hegde has also been replaced.

Leaders coming from other parties got priority

BJP has given preference in giving tickets to leaders coming from other parties. Ritesh Pandey from BSP has got ticket from Ambedkar Nagar. Geeta Koda from Congress has got ticket from Chaibasa. Naveen Jindal who came from Congress has been made the candidate from Kurukshetra. Just half an hour before the announcement of the ticket, Naveen Jindal left Congress and joined BJP. Former CM Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law Sita Soren who left JMM and joined BJP has got ticket from Dumka.

BJP has also fielded Rajya Sabha members in the Lok Sabha elections

BJP has also fielded those MPs who were winning from Rajya Sabha. They had also become ministers in the Modi government. This includes the names of Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra yadav and Mansukh Mandaviya.

So far 66 women have got tickets

Every political party makes big claims about giving tickets to women, but hardly any party has made 33% candidates till now. There are 66 women candidates in the list of BJP so far. 28 women have got tickets in the first list of the party. 15 women candidates were fielded in the second list. The names of 2 women were announced as candidates in the fourth list. The names of 20 women candidates were announced in the fifth list. There is the name of one woman candidate in the sixth list. However, BJP has not fielded any woman candidate in 17 seats of Bihar.

PM Modi’s focus on South India for Mission 370

PM Modi has set a target of winning 370 seats for BJP and 400+ seats for NDA in this Lok Sabha election. This is the reason why the Prime Minister is continuously campaigning vigorously in South India. In many states of North India, BJP has already won almost all the seats in the last Lok Sabha election. In such a situation, if it has to reach 370+, then it will need better performance in South India.
