NCP Congress Merger: NCP Congress Merger News: Amidst the preparations for Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, there is speculation whether Sharad Pawar faction’s NCP will merge with Congress? Meanwhile, Pawar’s daughter and MP Supriya Sule said that this is wrong news.

Along with this, former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that there is no truth in the news of NCP merger. We are preparing to fight with a different election symbol. We will fight as NCP in Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA).

Meanwhile, MP Amol Kolhe said that there has been no discussion regarding the merger of NCP Sharad Pawar faction with the Congress party.

Let us tell you that after his expulsion from Congress, Sharad Pawar had formed NCP in 1999 with former Lok Sabha speaker late P. Sangma and Tariq Anwar.

Sharad Pawar’s meeting

In the presence of Sharad Pawar, a meeting of MLAs and MPs was held at his residence in Pune on Wednesday (14 February). In this meeting the current situation of the state and Rajya Sabha elections were discussed.

Let us tell you that recently Sharad Pawar faction had suffered a big blow, when on February 6, the Election Commission had declared his nephew Ajit Pawar faction as the real NCP. The Commission had also allotted NCP’s election symbol ‘clock’ to the Ajit Pawar-led faction.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar had rebelled along with several NCP MLAs in July last year and joined the Eknath Shinde- led BJP-Shiv Sena government.

Sharad Pawar reached the Supreme Court

Sharad Pawar challenged the decision of the Election Commission in the Supreme Court on 13 February. Earlier, Ajit Pawar had filed a caveat in the Supreme Court saying that if Sharad Pawar files a petition, his side should also be heard.

Sharad Pawar now faces the challenge of keeping the organization united and winning maximum seats in the Lok Sabha elections . At present Sharad Pawar is in alliance with Congress and Uddhav faction’s Shiv Sena. Several rounds of meetings have been held between the three parties regarding seat sharing in Maharashtra.
