Ravindra Jadeja retires from T-20I: After Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has said goodbye to the T20 format. However, Ravindra Jadeja will continue to play in ODIs and Tests. On Saturday, the Indian team defeated South Africa and won the T20 World Cup title. After this victory, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from the T20 format. At the same time, now Ravindra Jadeja’s name has been added to this list. In this way, after winning the T20 World Cup title, 3 legendary cricketers of India have said goodbye to the format.

Ravindra Jadeja has posted an Instagram post with the T20 World Cup trophy. In the caption of this post, he has written – With deep gratitude, I am saying goodbye to my T20 International career. I have always given 100 percent for my country like a proud running horse and will continue to do so… Winning the T20 World Cup is like a dream come true, thank you for the memories, enthusiasm and unwavering support.

Jadeja could not do anything special in the World Cup: Jadeja scored only 36 runs in five innings of 8 matches in this entire tournament. During this, his scores were 2, 17, 9, 7, 10. Not only this, he also took only 1 wicket in bowling.

Such was Ravindra Jadeja’s international T20 career

Ravindra Jadeja played for the first time in the T20 World Cup 2009, after which he continued to play for India in all three formats. This all-rounder represented the Indian team in 74 T20 matches. In which he scored 515 runs as a batsman at an average of 21.46 and a strike rate of 127.16. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja took 54 wickets for India as a bowler in T20 matches at an economy of 7.62 and an average of 29.85.

Rohit and Virat retire from T20 after winning the World Cup

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won the World Cup together for the first time. And annonced retirement also togather.

After 16 years, 9 months and 5 days, India ended its wait to win the T20 World Cup. This was made possible by captain Rohit Sharma’s attacking fifty against Australia-England and Virat Kohli’s Player of the Final performance.

Along with Rohit-Virat, the rest of the team players were also important, but these two giants of Indian cricket retired from T20 as soon as India’s World Cup hunger ended. Therefore, it has become important to know their legendary journey in the shortest format of cricket.

Rohit Sharma said in the post match press conference

“This was my last match too and this is the right time to say goodbye. I wanted to win the title at any cost. I cannot describe it in words.” He said, “This is what I wanted and it happened. I was desperate for this in my life. I am happy that we could win this time.”

Virat Kohli said this while announcing his retirement 

Virat Kohli announced retirement from T20 International, Virat said that now it is time for the next generation to take over. This was my last T20 World Cup, this is exactly what we wanted to achieve. One day you feel that you cannot score runs and it happens, God is great. Just a chance, now or never situation. This was my last T20 match playing for India. We wanted to lift that cup.
