RCB vs SRH IPL 2024: RCB scored 206 runs for 7 wickets with the help of half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar. Kohli has become the first batsman to touch the 400 mark in this IPL. Rajat Patidar hit a fifty in 19 balls. RCB registered its second win in 9 matches while Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered its third defeat in 8 matches. This was RCB’s 250th IPL match.

Royal Challengers Bangalore made their 250th IPL match memorable. RCB defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs to register their second win in IPL 2024. After half-century innings from Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, RCB defeated Hyderabad in their own home due to sharp bowling by the bowlers. This is RCB’s second win in 9 matches while this is Hyderabad’s third loss in 8 matches. With the defeat, Hyderabad’s winning streak of 4 consecutive matches also came to a halt. RCB also leveled the account of the previous defeat. Both the teams clashed in Bengaluru this season where Hyderabad defeated RCB by 25 runs in a high-scoring match. RCB got its second win after a month. It got its first win this season on 25 March.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, chasing the target of 207 runs, could only score 171 runs for 8 wickets. Its start was very bad. Will Jacks gave Hyderabad a big shock by getting explosive opener Travis Head caught by Karn Sharma. Head could score one run in 3 balls. Abhishek Sharma played an innings of 31 runs in 13 balls. Yash Dayal got him caught behind the wicket by Dinesh Karthik. Aiden Markram could not do anything special and returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs in 8 balls. Heinrich Klaasen was also caught by Swapnil Singh at the hands of Green for 7 runs. Captain Pat Cummins was deceived by the short ball and returned to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs in 15 balls. Patidar and Kohli hit half-centuries

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 206 runs for 7 wickets due to explosive innings of Rajat Patidar and restrained half-century innings of Virat Kohli. Patidar (50 runs in 20 balls) scored the most runs in a partnership of 65 runs with Kohli (51 runs in 43 balls). Kohli’s focus was on giving the strike to his teammate. Cameron Green (37 runs not out in 20 balls) and Swapnil Singh (12 runs in six balls) scored runs quickly in the last overs and took RCB past 200 runs.

Kohli and Du Plessis added runs quickly

Kohli and Faf Du Plessis (25 runs from 12 balls) added runs quickly while batting aggressively against the Hyderabad team bowlers. Due to this, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins conceded 19 runs in his very first over. RCB had scored 43 runs without any loss in the first 18 balls but still could score only 61 runs after losing one wicket in the powerplay. Du Plessis was deceived by T Natarajan’s slow short ball and was caught by Aiden Markram at mid-off and reached the pavilion.

Rajat Patidar hit a fifty in 19 balls

Rajat Patidar took just 19 balls to reach his half-century, while Kohli, who is at the top of the list of highest run-scorers in IPL, faced 37 balls to score 50 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad has scored more than 250 runs thrice this season.

RCB scored 65 runs for 2 wickets in 7 overs

Will Jacks (nine runs in six balls) got out while trying to slog sweep the ball of leg spinner Mayank Markande. In this way, RCB’s score became 65 runs for 2 wickets in seven overs. Then Kohli and Patidar together took the innings forward. After the powerplay, the spinners succeeded in putting pressure on the batsmen. In this difficult situation for RCB, as soon as Kohli came to rotate the strike, Patidar reduced the pressure by hitting four consecutive sixes on Markande’s ball in the 11th over. Patidar hit the first two sixes on long on and long off. After this, he sent Markande’s googly over mid-wicket. He hit the fourth six over extra cover.

SRH bowling: Unadkat shined

SRH’s bowling looked out of rhythm right from the beginning of the match. The team conceded 61 runs in the powerplay overs. However, Jaydev Unadkat’s bowling showed sharpness, who took 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. Although captain Pat Cummins did take 1 wicket, he also conceded 55 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, Mayank Markande took 1 wicket and T Natarajan took 2 wickets. Shahbaz Ahmed was seen bowling very tight, who conceded only 14 runs in 3 overs.
